I don't rate him at all.

Having to actually earn games by playing well for the Bullants may have a positive effect on him though. Shouldn't be in the side in round 1.

Russell is still quite young but has played 29 senior games and has shown very little as a top 10 pick in the 2004 Nat. Draft to show he is going to be a star but he still could bloom in 2008.

I dont usually turn on our players, but i have to say that i think Russel is garbage.

He's too soft...not overly quick or athletic and his skills aren't anything other than average.

With basically no aparent strengths, i dont find it surprising that he hasn't made any progress.

Should be let go or traded to Adelaide for whatever we can get.

is it just me or does he have shoking dispsoal like his rushed no composure like murphs or hershal gibbs

I think he will make it. Liked what I saw of him under Ratten, and believe he, along with many others, was mismanaged under ol' Denis the Menace. Want to see as an attacker rather than a negater, I've said it time and time again, floating across the half-forward line and on a wing. He can actually take a grab and I dismiss this myth that his disposal is not good. He can kick a footy, his skills are good. Have faith in Brett Ratten to bring the best out in Jordan Russell, and his best will be good enough IMO.

Can't play. Boring subject. Comes up too often. Can't play can't play can't play. Next?

Would have thought it important to shred the potential of all players equally. But you are right, Russell does get more than his fair share of airtime.

I thought he showed plenty when Ratten gave him the chance to play across HF late in the season.

Might need a little longer mentally to get into the game but I think if we persist with him and with the right coaching he will get there.

I hope Russ will lift with Judd in the team. HE can see what an eleite athlete looks like, trains like and kicks the footy like.

This will be his make or break year, along with Hartlett and Edwards.

All three need to step up this year or get left on the scrap heap of guys who didn't make it.

how long do u persist?? its been 3 years.

Maybe I am one of the older posters on this board but I remember how immature I was at some of these kids' age and it scares me to think how I would have reacted to all the pressure they are under.....maturity comes quicker to some than to others.
