Highly unlikely he’ll appeal.
I think when it was all broken down it was a pretty cut and dry case for at least one count of murder.

Money will be another factor.
He would have dropped between $250k to $350k. Dann would charge around $10k per day, perhaps less over the course of a trial, and the instructing solicitor wouldn’t have been cheap. Throw in the committal and all the prep and he’d be pretty depleted of funds.
Got nothing to lose by appealing.
Money will be what stops him.
I don't get where this going back for his hat talk is coming from also. You can't appeal or be re tried on a not guilty verdict.
A guilty verdict for murder doesn't get worse

It appears to be the map he drew for them.

I don't know, but that mix of meds indicates an arrhythmic condition. Requests for cops to get his meds for him from his car perhaps? I did read somewhere that he had been put on medical leave at some point. Could explain the reason for it.
In his evidence, Lynn said he was diagnosed with AF (atrial fibrillation) ...it was diagnosed betwwen him being in the 'Gatta at time of offences, and the first or second him Police visited him...i can"t recall the exact timeline he stated.

Of course he will try to appeal the decision but on what grounds do you think?
Verdict was unsafe given evidence presented and reasoning.
Judges instructions during deliberation or response to questions by jury.
The allowance of some recordings when others were disallowed.
Can only go to 2. Appeals and high. Will be an interesting precedent.
Ultimately can't see him winning appeals.
Ironically the fact he was not guilty on one charge makes it harder to argue in a way
Your honour I should've been convicted of both but since I wasn't I should be acquitted.
But alternatively could argue Ms should've been on the table.
Effectively the rh charge is done.
The conviction of CC and those details would be appealed. Hard to see how he wins

At least....keep in mind as a airline captain and senior to the point of being a check pilot,he would have been earning well over $200k.He must have ( had ) a mind blowing super balance plus whatever equity in the house and maybe other investments. It was said he was as tight as a fishes you-know-what.Driving a '90's Patrol for eg

Makes sense given the drugs listed, though it does seem to be a bit heavy handed to be on all of them.

He also presented the story about GL's former wife's death this morning and says "Police will ask a coroner to reopen an inquest into the death of Gregory Lynn’s first wife." some interesting developments in the pipeline....

Yeah that’s just a re-hash of what was already reported. I’m not sure why they’re doing it to be honest of there’s no chance of identifying who was responsible as has been reported. I’m sure there’s a valid reason, perhaps hoping for an open finding. I know one thing for certain, GL won’t be confessing to anything.

Dare I say I’m getting SK vibes. Missing previous partner, first wife death, other missing persons in the High Country, killing animals etc etc.
Totally agree. Mr “cool calm and collected “ certainly acted like this wasn’t his first rodeo. I’m not sure if any normal person would react like he did after 2 “accidental deaths” ! If he was truly innocent, why not ring the police and leave the crime scene intact?

I think the medical leave was for a reaction to a bee sting?

Hmmm, drinking link with AF, not always, but is notable for it

He was dragging and lifting very heavy weights multiple times
during his murderous escapades which can have a detrimental affect on the heart and it is also well known stress can cause all sorts of severe physical health issues.

Actually, I’m a bit surprised to learn he has a heart. I wouldn’t have thought it was possible.

This was clearly two murders in my view.
Why did he tell police where bodies where?
Without that, there wasn't any real evidence against him was there.
He vehicle was caught on the CCTV towing a trailer the next morning hours after leaving the murder scene. Hill’s mobile phone was obviously still turned on and transported with body as it pinged several times during that journey. I don’t think Lynn could have explained those two things away.

Agree with his idea, if in crude form, that when the accused has destroyed all the evidence, they lose the presumption of innocence.

I still don't agree with him being stunned that the jury "either believe him or you don't" so therefore there must be two same verdicts.

The prosecution gave the jury a scenario that made way for split verdicts and I did post in here I think it was on the first day of the trial, we might get split verdicts, pegging it as guilty for the manslaughter of Hill and the murder of Clay.

This isn't how law works. Innocence is presumed, a legal process follows to determine guilt. It is not impossible that an innocent person destroys evidence.

Yeah I know. The presumption of innocence as I've said before is a cornerstone of justice and I wouldn't like to see that compromised however, the potential is there for a flip in very special circumstances, where the onus be on the defendant to prove innocence rather than the burden be all on the prosecution to prove a crime where the defendant admits to obliterating all the evidence.

From The Age

“There was also mention at one point ... about being bitten by a snake would be a good way to go,” Florence said.

“He regularly spoke to himself.”

The recording captured Lynn’s ramblings: “I saw some people fishing, what’s that, a snake bite. Would be a good way to go. Just f---ing never know when it’s coming, f---, shit. Australia’s gift.

“I think she knows I’m on the way up, one of the pages of the final chapter.”

Police grew concerned Lynn sounded depressed, and knowing he was in a remote location with firearms, decided to move in”.

What an odd conversation to have with oneself, Gollum like.

To me that sounds like a bit of deluded fantasy talk, on the way up meaning he was looking to "harm' again, if he was that way inclined.

Fishers my have gotten a bit lucky.

There can never be a flip in any circumstances. To do so once opens the door to innocent people being convicted simply because they can't prove a negative.
