Qox Sports presents "Match Thread with Kermit Brereton and Eddie Mogwaire"
LAST TIME THEY PLAYED: Baghdad Bombers : 16.9.105 DEF
East Side Hawks : 13.9.87 (S17 Round 17)
MATCH PREVIEW: The Bandits are third after a run of three wins and have been truly phenomenal since their rebrand. The Hawks are outside of the 8 and haven’t necessarily been poor, just… thereabouts. As such, they are always a threat despite ladder position. This is a genuine blockbuster encounter and looms as a very important one for both clubs. The Bandits lead a tight group from third to sixth so a loss can see them lose touch with the top two teams but a win would give them a real credible shot of a desired top two position. The Hawks on the other hand should enter the top 8 with a win and maybe should have been there anyway if it wasn’t for a very tight loss to lowly opposition.
IN FORM:
BANDITS: Gee Dub has been leading from the front and it showed in their massive win last week. I bleed Blue likely nabbed himself three mobs votes with a masterclass and Bengwatkins had plenty of shots so a week of target practice will make him more dangerous.
HAWKS: Despite the loss last week, Dagless and Itsmyshow were insanely good last week and larrikin dominated the ruck. Add to that tarkyn24 and his six goals and it’s hard to see how they let the game slip last week. There are a few Hawks that need to prove they aren’t passengers because the Wonders game is a missed win opportunity.
PREDICTION: These two tend to be very well matched and have fairly tight and exciting matches. This one should offer as much and the Hawks will be desperate not to lose four straight. I think the Bandits will come out firing but the Hawks can very well upset them. THE HAWKS BY 12 POINTS.
Teams must be submitted by Friday 11.59pm.
