Frustrating, it's now our 4th season in this competition and we're still fading away after half time.

I was moved into the middle where I didn't do much. The villagers of Gold City will not be happy with their new recruit.

You're there - 17 touches, 5 marks and a tackle. solid stuff off the half back flank.
 
After a tight first half the pennant quarter became the difference with the Roys extending a 2 point lead into 5 goals. The Royals stuck to their guns and went down fighting but couldn't make ground on that gap. In possibly a career-best haul, Dicky Fitzwell bagged 6 goals from 8 kicks, the only player to be particualrly damaging in front of goal in this match. Neither full-forward had their awesome boots on today, with Fred suffering from jitters in front of goal, and Juggalo Balla suffering from not getting much of a chance there.

Freakie was masterful, the only player to break the 30 disposal mark, while New Roys skipper fitzroybulldog and Mooch each racked them up. A tower of defiance yet sometimes feeling a little unsupported, Son of God was everywhere for the Royals, 27 touches and a game-high 8 tackles indicative of his refusal to believe this match might not be won. timtamWB , Easty and Marlowe also put up a brave fight. Easty finished one hitout shy of Reardo but contributed much more around the ground.

At the Roys, the herd of new recruits all showed plenty. Mighty P 's star would have shone the brightest had he not given away his shocking goalkicking sense. Rendered Unsafe , after being with Eastside last season and Minecraft last server, took the noob honours with 23 touches and a major in his first game wearing the gorilla suit. freetoeknee served stoicly across the half back line but failed to get the six goals he had predicted.

The Roys played more of a running game while Gold City relied a bit more on holding on to the ball and measuring their movements. While most stats fell the way of the team with the six goal winning margin, their bodywork showed out most clearly, which is a sign of a running and swarming side.

Gold City Catering left no room for complaint with magnificent lunchtime and half-time spreads for the aristocracy, while the proletariat were heard to be overjoyed with the plentiful supply of Golden Roughs from the canteen.

On behalf of the Roys Fantasy Football Club, a big thankyou to our fervent hosts, the lodgings and amenities provided were fit for a queen. We thank you for the match, salute your dogged tenaciousness especially in the final quarter where we thought we might romp further onwards, and only hope that we can offer close to the same great treatment when our return bout comes around (I presume there'll be one).

I was fully expecting the Royals to run over the top of us in the last quarter, imagine my surprise when they didn't. Starting to think 3KZ is Football may have been some kind of unlucky charm? Much like Leigh Carlson's moustache, I'll still maintain that if Carlson had of shaved that mo off we'd have won the flag in '83.
