I just remember growing up with his films. He was such a big part of our families movie watching. I must have watched Willy Wonka hundreds of times on its own, it was one of our favourites.

I had assumed the explosion of "good day sir" posts on this board were a tribute to Gene but I'm new so I could be wrong. I decided to continue it with the memes

I just remember growing up with his films. He was such a big part of our families movie watching. I must have watched Willy Wonka hundreds of times on its own, it was one of our favourites.

I don't think anyone could make a character quite as unique as Gene. What a brilliant film that is, still classic, none of the remakes hold a candle to it either.
Sort of sad and happy feeling that we can just jump back into his films and remember him at the peak of his powers.
