Yeah I was sad we didn't get a team. I figured we were a good chance. We already had a major sponsor before licences even went our. Mars Bars changed the name of the Mars bar to the believe bar for a month in support of our bid.

The problem with a halfway location is there is **** all population in the half way areas. The large population groups are pretty much north and south with small communities in between. I don't think you could get away with locating a team in a small town area. The players would all want to leave.

All the facts, support and evidence it could succeed was there. There was just an absolute ****wit called Andrew in charge at the time...

Very true. A midway training base with games at either stadium could maybe work and then say 50 years down the track if it's been successful and the population around the stadium and support willing to travel has grown because of the positive impact the club has had hopefully the training base becomes a start of the art thing like Spotless only infinitely better.
