For me, there will always be an * against the outcome of this Preliminary Final. The whole of Sweetville would have delivered massive kudos to both teams had the series been best of three. Of course this would have required an uncommon amount of magnanimity on behalf of the Dees and their Skipper.

The bolded asterisk is not awarded lightly. It signifies a dubious stain over a result or record. I am not aware of any such * being applied in the SFA until now. It is rarely used but here are some other sports where the asterisk has been formally applied.

1 The Tour of Pharmaceutical wins of Lance Armstrong notably have a bolded asterisk.
2 The result of the 2016 USA Presidential Election has an asterisk, though Trump himself is showered in them.
3 Muralidaran's bowling (throwing) record has the derisory *
4 The 2006 AFL Premiership *.

I would hate to see * appearing over the Prelim Final and possibly the Grand Final. manangatang is an honourable leader of a well regarded team. I am sure he and his SLG are in discussion with Far Kern and his people as well as Ant Bear. Hopefully this will be resolved and a third match is played.
