Las Vegas Bears vs Gumbies FFC
All time record: Bears 14 wins, Gumbies 15 wins, zero draws.
Last 5 games: Bears 4 wins, Gumbies 1 win.
In what should be the actual match of the round we have two clubs with 3 and 4 records fighting for their very existance in the top 8. The Gumbies currently hold seventh position, with the ninth placed Bears only 0.75% worse off, and both teams enter this round with identical records from their past five games with 2 wins and three losses apiece.
History has this one going to the Bears, who this season have been blessed by great match conditions and are playing some high event qootball as a result. Midfielders Muddiemoose, Millky95, tony, and guero are all putting up high numbers but the scoreboard has shown the limited efficacy of their game-style. Perhaps this possession gathering has all be undone by the pure violence shown by Western Stand Warrior who sits clear atop the league in giving away free kicks. Or perhaps it's the league's second most porous defence which MWPP and Art Vandelay_ will need to turn around for the Bears to resurrect their season.
The Gumbies sit mid-table after blitzing the hapless Dragons in round 7. It may have gone the other way with Rodney Dangerfield and BlueE scoring a combined 2 goals and 10 behinds, however wherearemykeys provided the right avenue for goal with 5 majors. The BeeGees combo of Barrybran and GWS Goose are pointing the midfield in the right direction and if they get support like the did last round from EagleOz the Gumbies will continue to shoot up the ladder.
The fine conditions will continue at the Stadium in the Sky but the Bears continued turnovers will see the Gumbies win this one.
Captains: do the teamsheet thing by the right time.
