Yeah how crazy of of us to expect better than 8 and 5 (in the easier half of the fixture), for a side that was 17 and 6 last year (including 13 in a row and top of the ladder for a long stretch) and to not lose anyone of note in the off season, with young players that are apparently not ready to be a year older and with holes in defence and ruck plugged with trade moves.

Crazy stuff, gotta feel for Daddy trying to turn this pickle juice in to champagne for the 12th season running.

Can we send Ken to Russia to inspect their windows? :think:
Ken to help zelensky win the Ukraine premiership is just what he needs to get the fire back in the belly.....literally. Russians are scary, fight hardery for longery, you get what you deserve and, there are some learnings there. Will go down well over there.

There’s no way he’d be able to handle the complexities of their cuisine.

When WB lose, it's because of Bevo.

When the Power lose, it's because of the players' lack of effort.

It's pathetic how transparent Kane is.

Ummm Kane - if the players aren't fit enough, why is that do you reckon? Surely the senior coach has to take a fair amount of the blame.

Obviously my expectations for Port are way higher than what I’m about to say but at the bare minimum, the AFL is an entertainment product.

Port Adelaide provide absolutely none with the way they play. Forget the losses, the mediocrity - at its core, it’s just ****ing horrible to watch and not fun.
When Hinkley finally leaves, hopefully Carr's game plan will revolve around proper structure, and an attacking game plan that the fans will enjoy watching. It'd be a very pleasant change from the crap we have to endure now.

With the young talent we have at our disposal, watching this team should be fun. It's ****ing turgid at the moment. Just laborious, dreary crap.

The fact we’re still prisoner to the belief that:

1) Port was an existential sh¡theel minnow scarcely worthy of its place in the comp when Ken came aboard, so anything above 25,000 crowds and 5 wins a season is a pro-rata miracle;

2) Ken was some sort of football mystic because he went 12-10 with a stack of first rounders, Alan Richardson and Darren Burgess;

3) Due to 1 & 2, it’s not a matter of “if”, but “when”, he’ll deliver a flag provided we wait long enough;

Beggars belief.
Obviously it doesn't matter to the goons in charge that other clubs (most notably Collingwood) have replaced their coach in recent times, and enjoyed some success. It also doesn't seem to matter that at least 12 opposition teams have made a grand final since 2007 - it's apparently just a matter of time before our time comes. Be patient, Port fans 🥴.

Im trying to wonder when will I get excited about Port playing ever again

It might be hard for a lot of us to go back. Some of those "i'm not coming back until Koch and Hinkley are gone" members are just never coming back, and these are people who previously bled black and white and pumped countless time, dollars and emotion into supporting the club.

I hope the casuals with their one game memberships who "didn't follow the footy that much" in 2012 are worth it.

I doubt the AFL will even allow us to sack Hinkley to be honest. It's blatant mismanagement that we've willingly extended him multiple times with the same amount of success. He'll see out a contract, just depends on which one (this contract we're in, or the inevitable next one). He'll 100% leave on his own terms.
So it's OK for St. Kilda to sack Ratten, just a few months after signing a 2 year extension, but we can't sack Ken? Sounds legit......

The AFL don't have the power to stop us, they never had the power to stop us from sacking him if we wanted to. That was a guess made up by the media to try to explain why we hadn't sacked him.

We haven't sacked him because the board doesn't want to.

Imagine if we ever dip back to our 2011-12 form. Let's see how many of them stick around, except even worse this time around, a lot of the rusted on die-hards that sat with the tarps at Footy Park will have already been long lost.

Imagine the implications of a sporting body, and all the money tied up in gambling, being allowed to influence the direction of a club by making them retain a limp noodle of a coach.

Although I guess they are allowed to handpick and appoint coaches to help struggling Vic clubs.

I was there during the tarps
I was a full game member from 2000 when I moved to Adelaide till 2019.
2020 till 2021 I could go due to an injury and not working for 20 months and to be honest I lost all faith in our coach.
My wife and I still buy our merchandise from the club and go there for lunches/dinners.
But I will not become a full game member as long as Daddy Doughnuts is coaching Port Adelaide
