At this stage the only position available in the box is assistant midfield coach which Kelly was doing. Don't think if Dew comes it would be for that. I also don't think he would come as a foward coach if Chad got the chop. He would only make the move if it was as senior assistant or at worst midfield coach. Senior assistant unlikely if ken is still there because he would then leapfrog carr.
Midfield is josh job unless josh moves to a senior assistant role maybe in readiness for when he takes over. But not sure the club needs to do that with Josh's role.
The more logical is Dew would come as senior assistant to josh because ken is leaving that makes more sense.

Dew as senior assistant to Josh Carr.

Think I’ll log off now and just assume that’s what is happening.

Stuey Dew was booed by Suns fans when he was seen on the bench at Brisbane, even though they sacked him.

If he comes here and it happens again, at least he'll know it's not him.

Wouldn't this be nice.

Carr head coach.
Dew assistant coach.
Lade Ruck coach.
Schofield midfield coach.
Sack lobbe, Ken.

Eh, don't really care for the romanticism of stacking the panel with 2004 premiership players.
But we do need good appointments. Don't care where they come from, so long as they're all-in for the pursuit of winning and know how.

Stewey Dew assistant coach?

Dew is an interesting one, you'd think he's going to be a senior assistant type at the very least given his experience. Going after a name like that suggests to me that they're thinking about life after Hinkley, but who knows.

Having two viable head coaching replacements in the box couldn’t be a bad sign.

Ken would feeling a bit like Scotty Ninnis when the 36ers signed up a long-time NBA assistant, and Serbian national team assistant, the former who would go on to become the head coach before a ball was dribbled in anger.

The lightbulb must’ve gone off when they spotted Stewie Dew on the ground after the GF. The last missing piece of the puzzle!

As if a club this pathetically craven will ever win a premiership.

Oh well that’s another year without memberships for my mob - doubt we’ll ever be back.

Haven't we always been trying to get Dew back? I always saw him as someone who's decided he's too big for Adelaide.

He also never attends club reunions/functions.

Would be a surprise for me if we got him.

The Dew reports is a smoke screen imo, there is nothing on the AFL or Port websites. The club wants us to think they are bringing back an old Port favorite to take the heat away from Hinkley.

The news said they were looking at Dew as an assistant, really poor Carr. If there is any truth to the report, i just can't see carr and Dew working with stupid.

Our only hope is that it's true and Dew is lined up to be an assistant coach to Carr, a long shot but who knows. I just don't think Hinkley will be able to stand the heat coming his way next season if he stays, I doubt very much that our draw will be as kind and finishing 2nd or higher is very unlikely, he's so better off leaving now.

Rest assured that Dew isn't coming to be just another assistant coach, he's coming to be Carr's right hand man.

People need to understand that there are two realities at the club and they operate concurrently. The first reality is actively planning for the future under Carr. The second reality is a group of people that we could all easily name who are hopelessly invested in the Hinkley family and desperately try to kick the can down the road at all times.
