Ricky Stuart is also a 3 time premiership player at the Canberra Raiders. The guy is a legend of the club.

He won a premiership in his first year coaching Sydney Roosters and then was sacked despite making the grand final the next 2 years.

I am not seeing any parallels with our Stinkers.

Ken Hinkley has a 60% win rate over a tenure of 12 seasons as coach of Port.

The first parallel between them is the fact they've both been coach of their current club for over a decade, and have no premierships to show for it.
The second parallel between them is when I said to my mate that Canberra should sack Ricky because he's been coach for 11 years and won no premierships, and he replied by asking me who else are they going to get if they sack Ricky.

I think I see the problem here!

We are the same club who point to Fagan as a reason for Ken to stay on. The same Chris Fagan who became a coach 4 years after Ken, picked up a worse list that still managed to "win" the wooden spoon in his first year, consistently improved year on year for the most part, had made a Grand Final last year and then won a flag in his 8th season. And we're using that as a justification for Ken Hinkley to have a 13th (!!!!!!) crack at it. If anything, Longmire resigning only reaffirms that it should be the coaches call when he decides to hand up the headset. We're just completely ****ed.

I would have Longmire over Hinkley every season that Hinkley has been here and every season going into the future. Of course he won't come here but I would take any of the 100 better credentialled coaches than Hinkley.
