Just sack the coaches. Take the savings for a year. Pay the debt. Finish in the same place.

Remove Ken, Bassett & voss. Monty to be head coach with Schofield as assistant. Might not be popular but I would hire Choco to over see Monty and also be our player development coach, he is the best in the business.

That would cost us about half of what it does atm.

PS: My mistake, we are already paying Monty and Schoey so a small pay rise and pay Choco, we have to be around 1.2 million better off.

Yeah, I think it's time people stopped lamenting the failed 2017 Gold Coast bid for Ken. That was no more than a concoction of Ken and his manager to get Port to piss their pants and prematurely extend his contract. Ken won, we all lost.

The only permanent tall forwards he's stuck with in his tenure are Schulzy & Dix he's incapable of investing the time into young KPF's & has little patience with them.. if you are 4'11 and ordinary though you can nail a spot for life.

And those two were developed under the tutelage of other coaches before he got here. Zero key forwards developed under Ken in 7 years. Zero.

Personally I still think Bassett is much smarter and a better coach than Hinkley, I wouldn't underestimate him as a coach, he's proven as much as Schoey in a better league.

In 2013 and 14 Schulz was a leading beast running on pure instinct, hitting open space in the forward 50 and running onto bullets from the likes of Wingard.

By the end he was this sad looking guy standing in a 2 on 1 having the pill bombed on his head.

Aside from our terrible on field performance, KT is a living and breathing example of the work hardery for longery mantra.

No one doubts his long hours and his effort, but he doesn't produce results for it.
