Lol. Literally every other board in the history of VFL/AFL football has sacked Hinkley by now. But apparently our board know the secret to success that the rest don't.
Every other board in the history of the VFL/AFL isn't coming back from a situation where the AFL and SANFL were at war over the license to both clubs and Port was caught in the crossfire.

As Duncanson says, in a world where Collingwood is given more money from the AFL than Port Adelaide, and the SANFL is giving us 'just enough' to get by, it's not a recipe for success. And that was only fixed after Koch came on board. Duncanson also says that the model that Port used from 1997 to 2004 was completely the wrong one (which I've surmised in the past).

I've said it before - 2013 was Year Zero for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the AFL.

I don't agree with all of it - some of it has definitely gone too far. But I think it reflects the level of annoyance at the current situation. If we'd had a better coach in 2020 and 2021, I'm quietly confident that we would have added to our tally of premierships (obviously we'll never know for sure). But Kochie obviously knows better than the white noise.....
Nah old school was a member looking Ando in the eye and telling him he was soft and he shirked a contest.

Unfortunately it's hard to get near a player or administrator at the club now.

Then using the general 7 year rule for new clubs 2020 would have been a flag.

I don't mind the players defending Hinkley but they need to lay off the fans, it's a really bad look.

Monty said it best by saying words to the effect of 'look, our fans are passionate, but we'll just focus on our job'.

The us vs them thing is ugly.

What's that go to do with the price of eggs? We were doing better in the 5 years after 2018 than we are now, closer to 2023.

It was also him taking a thinly veiled swipe by pointing out that he drives to work from the coastal, more affluent direction, not the more industrial working class direction from whence the phantom sticker plasterer likely (in his mind) came.
Wow, do you really beleive that? You don't think you're overthinking this a bit do you?

In the end Ken doesn't appoint himself. He's just doing the job he's contracted to do.

I have much more beef with the board than I do Ken.
**** 'em all. Board might have fell for the Gold Coast shenanigans but it was Hinkley that orchestrated it.

We were one crazy Monfries bounce away from not playing finals in 2013. You can look at these things from all sorts of angles.
i know it denied crows finals that year but losing to carlton in round 23 always really ate at me.

I was going to tip port this week but it’s clear Ken feels pressure…and what does a Ken coached team do when it’s under pressure?
If the players love Ken as much as they say they do, they'll try to move mountains this week to get up for him. But if we lose by 10 goals, perhaps their public support for him is merely a facade.

So how does that excuse Donuts from achieving so little in the 10 years post 'year zero'?

Your revisionist BS propaganda and incessant need to try and prove you're the smartest person in the room really do lead you to having the shittest of takes.

Charlie is a bloke defending his mate don't direct anger there it lies elsewhere. Players are generally the worst judges on what's good for them.

Five minutes after the next coach is appointed they'll be over it.

By all means respect the coach but you're not meant to be best mates with them and you're not meant to be in gambling syndicates with them.
