Sack Wallace!

No-one said TW should be sacked. My point was that he should be made to be more accountable. We've gone backwards this year and Wallace should accept that this is partly his responsibility. We should have played finals footy in 2006, we should have some bearing on the finals in 2007, and we should be genuine contenders in 2008. If that doesn't, Wallace should be sacked. Most of the smart people down at the club agree with me. Miller doesn't, but he's hardly a smart bloke, is he?

If we were not at that stage by the end of 2008 alot of people would doubt Terry but I would keep him as I would just believe that our club is simply impossible to ressurect and there is no one that could do it.

By the way 76 Gamer

You say you played for the Tigers.

Care to give us an on field anecdote or maybe off field one that wont give away your identity. Be alot more entertaining than sack the coach threads. We used them all up while the Dud coached us.

Attention seeker board

You created the thread "sack wallace"

Come back after round 3 in 2007 and try again.

He's had one full year and I think we've seen enough of his second year to know that TW is just not in the supercoach class. It's obvious that he doesn't understand the game, why waste time with him? He's had his chance, get rid of him!

Quote end Quote .......

No worries: Mark Eustace, Des Ryan and Brett Burton used to fart the whole way down the Geelong Rd to Kardinia Park.

Sure they do

We've won more games and finished higher up the ladder playing and getting games under the belts of our youngsters compared to the Cambos, Chaffeys and Grahams of last year.

Wallace inherited a threadbare prime-age bracket due to Geisch and Spud's disasterous recruiting. If you were a Tiger supporter you would have known that. From the 97-99 and 2001-2 drafts we have only Tivs, Hall and Schulz still left on our list. The only year we did well was 2000 when we got Petts, Cogs, Newman, Krak and Hyde in one go. So just 3 players remaining from 5 years worth of drafts (41 picks worth including promoted rookies) and you expected finals within 2 years of a wooden spoon lol. That's why Wallace was given a 5-year contract to rebuild the list via youth in the first place.

How is the Earth's core by the way?

And that was the best thing about our season - playing a dozen kids. Most of the time their did great too. But hang on a minute, TW recruited Graham and wanted Cambo to play on. And he's keeping Gaspar, Hall and Tivendale who we all know are hopeless.

Jeeze you're letting Miller off the hook there. Do you honestly believe that Geish and Danny were the only ones with their hands on the recruiting levers? Miller's still running around telling everyone that he got Carey even though it's not quite true.

That said, I agree that Wallace should be credited for the progress he's made rebuilding the list. Now where are the wins?

That would be Mark Eustice, Des Ryan and Chris Burton.

Nice to know you were so close to your "teammates" lol.

Btw what happened to us being 1-10 and then 4-18 :p.

Get out of it you old footy tragic. What are you doing, sitting there with your old footy records?

The fact that those boys farted literally all the time is true though, isn't it? Hoggy used to drive down to Geelong by himself because he couldn't stand it!

LOL
Any others?

Footy is dead boring at the moment.

Nothing happening down at our club.

Which is a good thing.

Threads on main board are boring as on this board as we know we are on right track but its been a totally unsatisfying year.

Nothing to groan about nothing to get excited about.

A few anecdotes like that will make interesting reading.

Im taking it that your time was late eighties to early nineties.

Did Bomber Thompson (good buddy of Mark Eustice) ever bring Brigitte Duclose down to the club.

Were there blokes whose committment left alot to be desired?

If the boys can get back to 4-7 or even 3-8 I'll be straight on the site declaring myself totally uninformed when it comes to footy ... but I just can't see it happening ...
Still waiting for the declaration....

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, the fact that it would bankrupt your side and destroy the progress you made with your youth makes this a classic.

How'd I miss this 5 months ago.

How did the men in them funny white jackets miss it lol
The man is clearly demented

Just testing the authenticity of your playing career if I could

Who was the most underrated player of your era. The guy most supporters thought was a dud but a fellow player would tell you that he did not get the credit he deserved.

There are many duds from the era you played. Who are we being too harsh on.

i think we should get rid of you
i dont think you really know what you are talking about
frawley killed our team and TW is trying to build it back and it will take time
you expect a new coach to come in and win a flag within 1-2 years mate you need to go

And that is my point. Our overall playing list is capable of eight to ten wins, whether or not we achieve that is down to the coaching staff, and as head coach, Wallace should be held accountable like everyone else.[/quote]

well he did what you wanted so what do you say about that

LOL.

Well he can't give us crap as a bombers supporter so he is trying to do so pathetically impersonating as a former Richmond player from the 80's. Sad as! :p

We outed him as everybody's favorite (former) Essendon supporter Vanda offshoot back in April. Wish I could find the thread, but the crux was that '76 Gamer' joined up at BigFooty the same month as Vanda, but only had one post to his name for four years. He decided to come out of the closet with this "Sack Wallace" gem.

But apparently he didn't really mean it now, despite an opening paragraph which said words to the effect of "let's get rid of him (Wallace)".

The funny thing is, Barry Young (who also played for Essendon ... hmmm) was the only 76-gamer of that era.

Happy new year!

The "Wallace tips top decade" thread (are we now sponsored by a bread company?) made me wonder if this guy will grace these shores again if we get knocked off by Carlton?
