As we all know, selling home games interstate is the key indicator of an unsustainable, minnow franchise, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Seemingly still feeling the effects of being utterly ROHAN'd in the finals last year, will it be Souf Austraya, Qld or WA who the LOLPIES call home next? :$

Collingwood is reportedly interested in selling one of its home games interstate.

“I detected when I was up in Brisbane that Collingwood is interested - Craig Kelly, very commercial, their new CEO - in potentially taking one of their games interstate,” he said.

“So if they married it up with an existing game interstate, for example you took a team up to Brisbane, played them there, then went down the coast and played the Suns. Collingwood could turn that into a two-week extravaganza and make a lot of money.

“They could also make a lot of money by taking a game to Perth. They are exploring that at the moment.”

Selling home games has typically been reserved for less financially successful clubs.

For example last year St Kilda sold a game against Port Adelaide to far north Queensland, then losing by a point in slippery conditions - arguably a turning point in their season as they went from 5-1 to missing the finals.

Along with Cairns the Saints have also sold home games to New Zealand and China but are 0-6 in those match-ups.

Melbourne sells a home game each year to Alice Springs, previously for financial reasons but now because it’s “culturally important”.

"My players are nothing but losers! Big ole McLOSERS!" - Collingwood coach Craig McRae after his team laid down to Geelong in the finals.

Wow, tough times indeed at Collingwood, whoring themselves out to anyone who'll take them like they're Norf. :$

No wonder they let Port wear the prison bars recently, probably received a payment for it. :drunk:

"according to Triple M’s Tom Browne" :$

Collingwood are just going back to their roots, lets not forget this poor homeless/suburbless (is that a word) team has not had a lot of success in the last 80 years.

The first interstate V/AFL game was held 120 years ago, when Collingwood and Fitzroy headed north to play in front of 20,000 Sydneysiders

Sounds like OP is lonely in the "middling club" section.

Melbourne, Richmond, even Hawthorn have all gone past Geelong.

Now Carters attempt to fake an ID with an extra 7 flags written in crayon has failed.

Sorry we don't fit back there in Middling Class, just make friends with the other Mids like...oh Fitzroy. That guy's dead. Maybe Sydney, they have what, 5, that's more your speed. Eagles and Norf, 4 flags. Thats middling like you! Heaps to talk about.
