Isn't that a sad day.. but I too would prefer Carlton to Norf.. doesn't matter either way.. there is a clear gap between HAW/GEE/SYD/FREO to the rest.. and we would have been in that 'rest' group.. 2 of them have to win and get another game.. but I have a feeling the Pre-lim's will be 'as expected'... can't see Rich/Carl/Port doing anything.. C'Wood might push if they are in the right space.. but I doubt they will win 2nd week.
 
Today I just feel totally deflated.

It's been a long and shitty 7 months. Thank God there has been some good footy moments in between. But our season is done.

I don't give a shit who the 8th team is because it should have been us. I hope the Tigers do well for my sons but also because they earnt their place in the 8 and deserve to be there.

Seven months later I still love my Bombers and until all this I didn't realise how much.

I thought I couldn't feel any worse than I did last Tuesday, bit I do
 
Carlton's Tiger-slaying ability is more vaunted.

...I think. History might say otherwise. I dunno, a tainted finals slot suits them more I guess.

I'm not up to the chapter where the penalties are announced to Essendon and they all flip their shit, can't wait for that part of the thread, it would of exploded at that point. A very juicey read.

I have always been sympathetic towards Adelaide because they got r*ped by the AFL(expansion teams + swans salary) on the eve on what looked like a very promising dynasty with the young gun midfielders they have. They lost Bock/Davis/Maric/gunston/tippet, that's quality KPP lost for nothing and impossible to recover from. Now draft sanctions on top of that they are going down down to the depths of the bottom 4. Reading that thread and the vile trash, stuff them suck shit chumps.

Draft sanctions only sounds club destroying after the Carlton scenario and it makes losing draft picks sound worst is Carlton are still crap. Remember Carlton was a bottom feeder of the league back then and shambles off field with Elliot. Ppl blame their crapness now on the draft sanctions only, not the poor drafting and development, they are the terry Wallace of the Richmond era.

Now draft sanctions will be the finishing blow of Adelaide but the public will think their quick fall from top 4 last year is solely responsible by the draft sanctions. Which it's not, any team losing that amount of quality talls wouldn't recover.

Imagine if Essendon lost Hooker/pears/TBC/Crameri/Hurley we would all be going "holy shit our team just got decimated beyond repair" throw the draft sanctions we have on top of losing those KKP I mentioned and we would be looking for a long rope and tree.

By the sounds of it our playing group is on the same Page which is a good thing, just TBC and Crameri have lucrative offers we can't match but if we lose one hopefully we sign the other. we can't blame gumby if he left for cash as well he is getting squeezed out of the fwd line. He should look after himself financially now with his injury record.

If the players still have the faith and belief in the coach (false or not as long as they believe) and our list stays together we will be fine.

We picked up gumby at number 3 and he has done jack and our club isn't crippled.

Draft sanctions only "sound" bad due to history but it fails to mention the other damaging factors of those other clubs.

I can understand it does look bleak for us but it won't be.

Look towards the future. We will be alright
 
Update: I'm still reading that Adelaide thread and their tears are so sweet, upto the part they just heard EFC draft penalties.

I do agree with one thing a lot of them have said, don't cooperated with the AFL thinking they will look after you/go easy on you.

When I look back on our 7 months our number one mistake was Vlad sweet talking Evans and convinced him that it would be better for the investigation if Essendon kept quiet as it could work against them in the investigation and for doing so he will look after Essendon. Evans thinking he could trust him because Vlad is/was a family friend with a strong relationship with his dad thought we could trust Vlads word... That 4 months of uncontested media grooming to the public, was our nail.

Moral of the story: Don't co-operated or trust Vlad.

Brian Cook has said that their club wouldnt be continuing with any coaches involved the the essendon supplement saga, to go along with kochie saying Hird would have been sacked from port,

is this the new AFL agenda towards Essendon to get rid of Hird/Bomber and co?
