What I don't get is opposition supporters getting off on the hurt of Essendon supporters. I can understand them hating our club but to relish the pain of supporters is uncalled for. I really feel for Fitzroy supporters and as much as I hate North would really sympathizse with their supporters if they went under. It happened to me in the NRL with the North Sydney Bears and it's something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Yet opposition supporters on BF take great delight in what has happened to us, as if we were guilty. The only thing I'm guilty of is loving my club.

Any opposition supporter would be livid if this happened to their club, that's my line from now on.

How would you like it if your club broke absolutely no rules and got this punishment...

I'm yet to meet anyone who would deem it appropriate, some hawthorn supporters care more about this than their own bloody flag tilt

When I said the right decision was made, is because we lost the real war it's done.

That 3-4 months of silence was our nail, the public were already groomed.

I don't about you guys but have you notice this scenario/opinion the last week from the "mob"

Last week at work another update on the radio about Essendon appears, a work mate says "drug cheating Hird as if he didn't know it all" I said I'll show you an article from the Australian saying in emils "Robinson and Dank injected without staff knowledge" reply back was "nah I'm over all of it"

If we take it to supreme court and win all the public will only say "typically Essendon with their expensive lawyers getting off on a technicality blood drug cheats"

I bet my left nut you could walk out in public with a fold showing factually/legally that proves Essendon is 100% innocent with not a doubt. Walk up to randoms and say "I have everything in this folder that legally and factually show Essendon are innocent, would you believe it?" the majority will say no.
If Essendon and Hird are angry because their image and reputation has been damaged they aren't going to get it back win it in court or from a PR campaign. When Hirdy did that presser after the Carlton win, he swung the public opinion massively. Guys at work were saying "it's good to see Hirdy open up ect ect"

They need to reproduce something like that again not a scripted interview.

The battle for the hearts & minds or your average drooling moron might have been lost BUT the battle to save our season, staff & draft picks was very much still alive. No convictions & no penalties was the ultimate goal not trying to hope Caro or Phatprick changed their tunes. How much impact do you think "Sarah" had. How much impact would exposing her as a fake get? How much impact do you think Vlad being charged with illegaly leaking information would have had? We had every single thing to gain & only 1 thing left to lose - our existance. I have no doubt at all the AFL would have & did play their only remaining card.

Found this little gem on the Hawks board.. And they think we are deluded

I can assure you that Essendon fans are deluded.
I have a friend, a senior auditor with a large accountancy firm, intelligent (yes, I know, but he's an accountant!) and very sensible: he keeps telling me that it's only a governance issue.

He genuinely believes that Hird is taking responsiblilty for something not of his doing, and my friend expresses great admiration for Hird for doing so!

I'm lost ...
He respects the guys opinion but when it comes to Essendon, he doesn't
Geez..!

Who's the deluded one here. He says he is friends with an Accountant. Who does that? :p

DOC Reid is still fighting guys, through that fight i believe there is a chance that it will all be exposed while the attention is drawn away from the club.

I wonder how the Hot Topics Board will cope when the AFL is exposed for the deceitful, double agent it really is?

Legally you are right and I'll say thid right now I myself personally wanted to fight and drag the sorry ass league with the other 17 clubs through the mud. We didn't crack (supporters/players/staff as 1) for 7 months when it was us vs AFL plus 17 clubs, they wouldn't last 1 month until they start eating their young because they weren't truly banded together as one.

You give little credit to the blind mob, yes when by themself it has less brains than a shrimp but as a collective which is has sheer numbers that outweigh everything else it's very powerful even more when you can control it as one, why you think religion is the most powerful voice because it's based on fact and ethics? Nahhh

1) Caro and Phatprick would not change their tune as they sing the song the mob wants.

2) if the media sniffed that we tried to see if the call way legit or not would of seen worst than what we saw from the media

3) well this is the thing, the guy at work who discredit Hird I pulled him up an said "what to believe the AFL/Vlad" He said "nah they are corrupt and full of shit too". The general public hate Vlad already they accept he is shonkie.

It all sounds well and good but how long do you think all of this would take? 1 - 2 years? We still don't know 100% after 7 bloody months regarding what ASADA said about bloody AOD for **** sake.

How long could the club stay galvanised together with shit on field performance? It was fine when winning but after 1 year of underachieving due to off field legal shit I'm sure we would have disgruntle players which would finally make Caro's article about it legit just 18 months late.

Hird wasn't able to dedicate the required time to coaching by the end but the club needed him as the meat shield for the media where everyone stood behind while he wore it with that cheeky grin. 6 months of media outside your front door and in your yard, better man than I could of been. How long could his family last?
Who knows how long Hirdy could last because I'll say one thing, I knew he was mentally strong but bloody hell he didn't show one sign of wielding.

Destroys any little bit of faith in humanity I had left. I've never taken delight in another supporter's pain, even in the euphoria of a close-fought win. I prefer to focus on my joy in winning. There is always great satisfaction in beating the arch rivals of course and I love to get stuck into my mates with a bit of banter. But the disturbing enjoyment/satisfaction some get out of other's misery, suggests there are a lot more psychopaths out there than we realise. And when you consider that this saga was largely a one-sided media feast it makes you realise that a balanced examination of the facts is not a great determinant in the construction of society's opinions/judgments.

The sad reality is that my daughter (11) has been copping crap all year about her team the 'druggies'.. I have been trying to tell her that is not the case.. she is now hearing that we have been 'kicked out of the finals cause we are drug cheats'.. that is what she, and ALL her school friends believe.. that is the price we will pay forever.

that is the price for our poor handling of the PR over the last months.. there is now an entire generation (and community as a whole) that quite honestly don't give a toss what the charge sheet now says.. we were drug cheats and we have been booted from the finals because of it.. end of story.

The club should never have let this punishment be handed out so meekly.. players come and go.. but the reputation of the club is paramount.

Sad day.. but hopefully next year is the first step towards rebuilding.

If the AFL had any integrity, wanted to make the league's image look good, and all of this other bullshit used against Hird the last 6 months, they would reinstate us back into finals. Can't believe how shit Carlton are, yet this rabble could be in September

They won't but Caro's article will explain why Hird must stand down for employing a rogue employee whilst Demetriou remains after running such an agenda.

Little echoing my sentiments, the AFL threatened to absolutely wipe us not only for this season, but for the future.

essentially containing the punishments to this year (even that in itself is bizarre) holds us in better stead than having punishments linger into the future.

They should have held on.
This episode has gone down badly for the EFC. Never to be forgotten by those media Hyenas that have had their cause justified.

So disappointing.

Oh well, after all the shit that's happened this year, we still finished above Norf. All I can say is, **** ASADA, **** the AFL, **** Fairfax, **** Caro, **** the Weapon and **** Stephen Dank. Also, **** the political grandstanding back in February. It is shameful how much trauma has been caused to people involved at this club because of the disgraceful way this saga has been carried out.

Barely got to enjoy this year because of the external bullshit, which is a shame because we've had great wins. I hope this team comes out in 2014 and annihilates the entire AFL, and I hope Hirdy gives the AFL and Vlad the finger when he lifts up #17

I too wanted to fight, here is Little saying why we didn't

http://wap.news.bigpond.com/article...deal_to_protect_2014_901805.html#.UiHziJF_XJt

Essendon chairman Paul Little says the risk the AFL club's 2014 season would have been virtually wiped out was what prompted the Bombers to accept their penalty deal with the AFL.
Essendon were on Tuesday night disqualified from this year's finals, had coach James Hird suspended for 12 months, were fined $2 million and lost picks at each of the next two national drafts over last year's supplements program.
Little said he had since been frequently asked why the Bombers accepted the negotiated penalty deal rather than fight on.
He said accepting the sanctions was the toughest moment he could have imagined as chairman, but to fight on would have been too great a risk

We didn't fight it in the supreme court, accept it and move on.

When a page doesn't load on BF it cuts to a picture of Paul Little saying something about "will this page load? no it won't". I'm confused about what this means, but I'm guessing it's more ha has. If so, this forum is turning into one big efc troll.

So since we are so guilty of poor H.R and OH&S when will the Fair Work Australia and Worksafe investigations start.

In 1983 we were thrashed by the Hawks, according to Dermie by the end of 1984 he was scared of Essendon.

I say by the end of 2014 lets leave all 17 other clubs scared.
