Another sad thing will be that it seems like we will struggle to re-sign everyone this year.. and again we go back to struggling to attract talent to the club...

After the Goddard miracle.. I thought we were BACK but now I guess we start again.

Which is a shame.. because the new HPC and everything makes our club the best in the country for a player IMHO.

If the truth comes out that all is well, I don't think this will be the case.

I still want us to be ruthless at the trade table.

Simple deduction. How many 20 year old's mother's have not attended a single meeting? I would imagine that number would be very small if anything.
 
Listening to the 'Sarah' interview carefully.. you notice that she always refers to "Essendon" rather than "the club" which is what most players and families use.

For example:
"Essendon only care about themselves, it is all about them"

Where as you would expect, linguistically, for it to come out like:
"The club only cares about themselves, it isn't about us"

I would have expected to hear Sarah refer to "the Club" FAR more than "Essendon" "the Essendon Football Club". Especially if she lives with her son and talks to him about stuff regularly.

I don't know any players who refer to it as anything other than "the club" or "my club" etc..

For example, Player X leaves for training/meetings every day.. he will exit saying:
"Bye Mum, I'm off to the (footy) club" not "Bye Mum, I'm off to the Essendon Football Club"

So it would seem VERY strange that in the 'heat and emotional trauma' that was that phone call.. she would use such cold and clinical language, especially if this was just a 'spur of the moment call'.

There are several other moments that make no sense either.

The AFL have successfully turned this into an individual fight, and by doing so, makes those 4 - who are rightfully fighting for their own part of justice, put themselves before the club - It instantly changes the demographic of their roles.

This is not adjudicating these guys as guilty of what the AFL has charged them with.

The distraction however is at the detriment of the football club - Hird & co can still challenge this fight with the Footy club behind closed doors to clear their names, that's fine. But the saying no one individual is bigger than the club, and I think that this saying has gone out the window here.

I am as big a James Hird fan as the rest of the Bomber Army, and I hope he sticks it up Vlads arse.

I just want my football club to have some respite from the shit it has copped for far too long now. This is the best way to do so - Even if its a temporary stand down and Goodwin take over for the time being.
