So according to the HTB not only have we cheated, we've apparently tried to kill every player on our list by injecting them with some sort of carcinogenic poison.

Seriously wtf is wrong with people??

Because Hamilton works for AFL Victoria.

So let me get this straight. The AFL is currently employing a man who is in this up to his ears - sounds like poor governance to me. Who did his pre-employment checks? What about his integrity?

(this is not a swipe at Hamilton, this is a swipe at that ****stick Vlad and his illegal, unethical actions and his fat donut guzzling face. campaigner.

Hird and Thompson were injecting players ?

I stand by my opinion - Yes the loss of points is too harsh - But rightly or wrongly the AFL think we used PED'S and I imagine this is why we lose points.

Seriously the supplement regime ran under the banner of Hird and Thompson - They drove the program.

Unless the AFL can prove we used PEDs, they can go and **** themselves.

Haven't we all learnt that 90% of these rumours have just turned out just to be rumours?

The players will have until November off, so the club has until then to work a deal. We have the luxury of time, the AFL don't.

I'm pretty sure the AFL presidents don't want the equalisation fund raided to pay for lawyers.

I still don't understand, why there hasn't been any analysis about the caller to SEN, yesterday morning.

It's been taken as a given.

This is why I worry about Australia.

If we take this hit, and then ASADA comes out with more crap at the end of their report, there's nothing to stop the AFL from getting a second bite. And I'll tell you this: this mythic "safe" 2014 football season doesn't exist. It'll be shithouse. We'll be one of the worst sides in the comp. Bank on it

Not to mention we won't get our slate wiped clean by doing a deal with the AFL. There will be ongoing animosity from the AFL towards us, and won't be getting any favours from them for a long long time.

At least if we roll over for the AFL we know we have some Lube-All-Plus on site to ease the pain a little.

From April then......
Looks like the final push from The Age/AFL to try and get Essendon into a deal
I think this has greater implications for our players to be honest. Although his claims about boosting immune system seem to support the use of Thymosin alpha. Maybe he mixed the two up. Hopefully in name, not administration.

I guess I'm confused.. I thought the CEO of the AFL again confirmed TWICE this week that 'nothing had been decided' and that the Commission (including himself) had an open mind?

As far as I was aware, we haven't actually had the hearing yet? Last we heard from an official capacity was that all parties had requested, and been granted, more time to adequately deal with these matters?

Why would the club roll over now? In two weeks time we play finals.. then we have five months to work out all this legal crap.

I hope the club stays strong, I think if we roll over now.. this would be the biggest mistake the club could make in terms of PR and internal support. Rolling over could be what brings down the club.. after being promised 'the truth' for seven months.. and we have waited very patiently for that truth, you are now going to sweep it under a rug and deny us the chance to play finals?

Very dangerous games being played. Cat and Mouse. One would hope to see a strong club come back ready to fight next week.

About 6 pages behind, but I just want to say we were promised a fight by the club, and if we lose points or staff I will feel totally betrayed by the board and the club, especially little.

You're entitled to view this scenario in any manner that you see fit, Trev.

Without having a dig at you or other who've stated they will walk away from the game, spare a thought for the players who earned those points and trusted the club staff only to have all of their hard work amount to nothing. If supporters want to walk away because they're unhappy with the outcome, how do you think the boys are doing? The lads on the list have as much say in the ultimate outcome as you or I and yet they're central to this whole debacle.

Supporting the side is ultimately about supporting the players who put themselves on the line week in, week out. They've been shafted from a few different angles this year, I think having the supporters turn would just be another kick In tHe guts for them.

Why are the players any more important than the coaching staff or other officials? They are all part of the same club, and equally important. I care for the players as much as anyone else, but don't make grown men out to be children. They are all educated and all taught to be adults. I absolutely think of the players but they are not above the club either, and the current list are not more important that the 100+ year proud history we have. We have to think of the players and we have to think about our integrity.

Supporting the club is NOT about the short term prospect of premierships. It's about how we feel about our own identity and how the club makes us feel about ourselves, and then backing the club as a member of family. If the club deserts that image then it's natural to feel a disconnect.
