It will be interesting to see, if it ever comes out, just exactly what the role of other clubs behind the scenes, with the various machinations that are no doubt going on, is in all this- if anything at all, in fact. And if they do, whether it actually has a tangible effect.

Some clubs have historical grievances with Essendon. Some clubs have historical grievances with the AFL. Some clubs have grievances with both. Some probably have grievances with neither.

McClure is in the same class as Roberts Walls if you ask me - a bloke who played a few games and clearly NEVER did ANYTHING wrong in ANY of them. His constant criticism and correction of people & teams and rampant negativity disgust me. Anything he says against the might EFC can be roundly ignored. He is a flog.

If you look at old footage of Maclure playing for Carltank he has very very broad shoulders and a tiny head. This is reflected in the quality of his comments on ABC and Fox.

i'm pretty sure gary lyon christened him, originally it was purple warrior. and yes, Lyon is a colossal Wayne Kerr, anyone who calls himself 'lone wolf' usually is

It was the "Purple headed warrior" (a ****) when he and Jim Brayshaw got into something Norf related on triple M pre game one day, Barrett was copping it down on the boundary from Lyon, Brayshaw and Frawley all day, enthralling radio.

It's probably short for "the purple headed warrior of lust" which is a euphemism for penis, which is a euphemism for Barrett. Circle of life right there folks.
 
OK Friday night companions, what do you make of this from the HTB?

Now, my take on the James Hird legal challenge – I know what his game is and very surprised it is not being reported.

It is so obvious, he is protecting his own position and has personal lawyers acting for him alone. The other three are going in tandem with Essendon and seem to be letting Hird do all the work with his lawyers. Bad move. The fact that Hird has independent lawyers means that he knows, or has been advised, that the only way to try and clear his name is to divorce himself from Essendon’s legal challenge AND the other three and sue Essendon!! – ditto DANK!!

Dank is not silly. Hird knows that Dank will be the prize witness to hang the Essendon Football Club (and himself) in the process – this is why he is vocally supporting Hird in the press. They need each other. In fact Dank has the ammunition to see Hird off to a very long stint in the wilderness hiding out in his Toorak mansion, as they call it. Hird has to isolate himself from the Club and the other three charged, the moment the AFL charges were laid....he is preparing to do this. Why do the wanking journos not see this?

Caroline Wilson has it partially right but cannot actually see the strategy employed I guess because she does not have the background.

Hird’s lawyers have already shown their hand to also put the pressure on Essendon and the others. He has already advised he will not attend the AFL Commission Hearing on the 26th AUG unless it is a public or independent hearing with certain commissioners removed incl. Demetriou. Good move...let EFC believe he is one with them (no way).

Hird’s lawyers have already worked out that the AFL know they could not rely upon the Interim ASADA Report to lay the charges. These have been laid from other information gathered, not the ASADA interim report.

i.e. The EFC report which in itself hangs Hird and the upper echelon....the AFL know they have enough because the EFC commissioned a private report for them and the AFL – they would have been rubbing their hands together. Stupid move by EFC...they are systematically hanging themselves or committing hari kari.

Hird’s lawyers would have told Hird he made the ultimate blunder when he went on the record after Ziggy was commissioned by the EFC to produce a report for the EFC and the AFL in an attempt to clear themselves or have the blame firmly laid onto DANK and Robinson. It has backfired into their red & black faces.....and Hird will use his statement that he “will take full responsibility” to sink the Club he “loves”.

Hird has been told that he will have to turn against EFC and the others, by default, to protect his own position and reputation (who knows what is in the small print of Hird’s coaching contract) but he has held on, not because of the spin about “why would I hurt the game I love and cherish” (note game, not club) that pours forth from his mouth to uneducated journos outside his home every morning, but because he will sue the EFC soon under the safe work environment clauses etc. therein.

He will be protected under the workplace laws of Australia and knows it. He has lied on purpose. (have a look at that coach of the OZ cricket team who took his claim to the fair Work Tribunal). Hird may have to be sacked by EFC once they get wind of his strategy.

He masterminded the drug program himself because he is a win-at-all-costs man and only took on the job if was given a free reign to improve the performance on the ground under any circumstances – in this respect Dank and Robinson were the unwitting stooges of Hird. Hird is about to double-cross all of them to save his own neck, but in the long run he will lose, but win in the monetary sense.....but that might take a few years after Appeals. The EFC’s favourite son is about to become public enemy No. 1. It is so nice that Hird can have his personal legal fees covered by the EFC (members) under his employment contract (they are being billed for his legal fees at the moment, but not for long). Hird will ensure he gets billed personally by these lawyers once the outcome of the AFL Commission hearing is known. He can eat his cake and have it too – no wonder he can endure all of the stress. Robinson on the other hand does not know what is going on and will be lucky not to kill himself in the process unless Jeff Kennet comes to his rescue.

It is convenient for Hird to give the impression he still loves the Club and its members, but look out Bomber fans because James Hird esquire will be suing the pants off your beloved Club before the footy season is over. He could not give a shit if EFC loses points, in fact he wants that to happen to ensure it is the club who is proven to be at fault. The Club will fall for the trap thinking they have Hird firmly with them, but look out Mr. Little. (Little will be one step ahead of Hird working out how he can prepare a defence against Hird’s future claims). Everything Little says is spin at the moment. He looks like a bastard and will be ruthless but must have the street savvy that he is about to be screwed by Hird.

AND the AFL, they will come down hard. I do not believe a Judge would injunct the AFL from going ahead with the hearing on the 26th, which Hird is appearing to try to do on his own independently of the Club. It is sickening but these woeful strategies are akin to divorcing your father and mother or screwing another wife or best friend to save yourself from charges far worse than what is on the table now. The AFL know this and have no choice in the matter. A late night Supreme Court hearing will have no choice but to throw out an application for an injunction to delay the Commissioners hearing until after the finals. The AFL will be able to prove it has sufficient evidence to impose all of the fines on the 26th. Essendon have no defence.

Hird’s ONLY defence is that he did not know until now the extent of the Club’s involvement and that it was the CEO and the Board who are ultimately responsible.

James Hird can spring his own star Witness in DANK, soon. He will be trying to do a deal with Dank now. Dank is OK because it was the Club that employed him and instructed him. If Hird is given a “warn-off” for 2 years, he will simply turn around an sue EFC. DANK will support Hird in that by saying “James did not know”. Dank has his own fight to fight and all will depend on his own written contract as to what he can do. One would imagine he had a service contract. At the end of the day it is the club itself which will suffer on all fronts.

I expect the players to be issued with infraction notices in a month or two after ASADA finally get into court with DANK – and Dank hates EFC because they booted him out along with Robinson thinking they would be the scapegoats. So bomber fans are in for a very sorry time of it.

EFC have to accept the punishment now, which Hird and Dank want. EFC has no choice but to take their medicine because if they try to fight the AFL, the AFL will have no choice but to suspend the Club from the competition in 2014 until the matter is sorted out. EFC will not want this.

It all pays into Hird’s hands. Hird can see the $$$$ signs already with EFC having to pay him out after the 26th. He will sue the Club, for damages and huge contract compensation. Poor James will never be able to coach again and poor James will be the winner out of it all, because he has read it better than anyone else.

My prediction is that EFC will be forced to accept the points loss, the removal of draft picks and the fines. Hird and others will be well served to be suspended or rubbed out for a long time because they will then sue the EFC. The EFC is their employer who had the duty of care. When an employee does something wrong doing his job in the interests of that business, he is never liable personally, it is always the business (as it is the club that instructed him and gave him his brief) – Hird has not stolen money or ****** the Captain’s wife (Jobe does not have one!!)....all James has done is the job he was employed to do. He will cry out for all to hear, I am innocent, it was not me, it was......the CLUB, they made me do it – the Board will have to step down at an EGM spill and the members will have to appoint the AFL to run the CLUB because when all of this is over, the Club will have huge debts to pay to players, sponsors, members and employees like Hird.

It will be lucky to survive – this is what the AFL will be telling them over the coming days – take legal action against the AFL at your peril. Accept your punishment and get on with it.

EFC will dwell in the cellar for many years to come, because players will be forced to stand up for their rights and it is the club who will have ruined their livelihoods. EFC was meant to provide a safe working environment for them and they failed. The final ASADA report will prove that. ASADA now has the same powers as the ATO in hunting down dodgers via the NCC and AFP.......look out all Bomber players – ASADA has to justify its budget which is in the hundreds of millions – who funds that? Yes!! The Government and WADA.

ASADA has a JOINT investigation going on. ASADA are not going to turn on the AFL and the AFL are not going to turn on ASADA. If EFC make the mistake of listening to all the lawyers and litigate, the EFC will perish from the competition and enter Tasmania. The AFL will never forgive EFC and if it gets too messy, they will let natural justice prevail. The Courts will not go against the AFL over this matter. It will allow the natural process to go on. The catch-cry of “Natural Justice” from the EFC to all and sundry will fall on deaf ears because the only natural justice will be to allow the processes in place by statutory bodies to determine what that justice will be and the only organization that can receive it is the EFC.

I hope the EFC know that and take their medicine quickly – the pain will be over quickly and they will be about $25m better off – if they go into this fight they will lose and Hird and others will win, but have their reputations tarnished. Hird will not be the players golden haired boy for much longer because he has the plan to dessert them to save his own skin.

And you know why – because he can predict the future.

If I am wrong in all of this, then Hird is a duffer!!! He only has one avenue of attack – his employee. The buck stops with the Board.

Mark Stevens just said that the meeting on Tuesday is going to be fiery as parents confront Essendon about the health of their sons and their fertility in the future.
The players are getting health checks to ensure that they have not been adversely effected by the injections.

Leigh Matthews said that the AFL ****ed up by charging individuals. He said that he reckons Essendon would have copped the charges

His comment regarding Jobe was made after Jobe admitting he believed he'd been administered AOD9604 on OTC. As we know there was a lot of discussion after this. On AFL360 a couple of nights after there was a discussion in relation to Jobevand someone said that Jobe was a likeable fellow that ****stick Maclure then said 'so is Lance Armstrong' basically equating Jobe with Lance Armstrong

This reads like a 'best of' compilation of the conspiracy theories and dreams of the foamers.

I found this line particularly entertaining, in a dark way - I'm not sure if the author understands the irony in the statement:

The psychotic ranter from the HTB possibly needs to be just a little careful as they're getting pretty close to defamatory grounds with claims about Hird suing he club, screwing others over etc. One thing is clear - they're Tasmanian as shown by their intimate knowledge of familial relations.

Lol I had to give it up mate... Never has there been a better reason to quote the old saying of "Never try to argue with an idiot they drag you down to their level and beat on you with experience" And there is millions of them in there...

I do have to laugh at how passionate they are about us and virtually forgetting
about the game and their own team... :confused:

From an objective viewpoint, it's a fascinating insight into mob mentality. I bet most of them, one of one would be OK to have a conversation with, but when you have them feeding of each other, the conversation degenerates into lunacy.
