God he is such a momentum killer.

Always goes for the Hollywood goal when he should be doing the team things.

Meek was out on his feet competing against two rucks but Draper would just keep kicking it to our intercept defenders.

Some of the lowest footy IQ I've seen.

I doubt the club feels the same. I think they would see Draper as Tex Walkers replacement. Thilthorpe is too good to go near the ruck

If Essendon finish bottom 3 then they probably have interest in seeing Draper go also so its probably a fairly clean run at him. For free I think Adelaide will bite
Band 1 compensation for Draper lol.

Then it's an easy pass, Essendon can offer him that kind of money.
Id pass too but I dont think Adelaide Crows do is what im getting at

The money will be there, the man will be free and he fits in a core need of that 2nd ruck who can play forward. To me it would be absolutely insane to put Thilthorpe in the ruck to save a bit of cash. Draper comes in to play but also comes in to protect the Rolls Royce too

My point of difference is id get that type of player but id look elsewhere. Id be more interested in more of that Mabor Chol style option. A player whose much much cheaper and versatile. Hayden McLean/Dante Visenti type cheap crack at it

We're past the point of needing a Tex Walker replacement, as we've wedded ourselves to the Thilthorpe/Fogarty combination.

This is something we likely fill internally, especially as our backup ruck/forward (Toby Murray) has set the world on fire this preseason (and probably would have debuted at most clubs off it). Or Curtin, much to my disdain of wasting a 1st round draft pick on a third tall slot.

Fully believe you need a Walker replacement. Fogarty is a bit like Jake Stringer. Better on a sligthly smaller guy who doesnt have the height. He can bully most third talls with upper body strength but not so much 2nd talls

Curtin cant be that 3rd tall at all for the reason you said. Toby Murray seems a interesting one at 21 years old and sounds like could be a option. Would be smart of you too rest Walker some games and give him a crack to see where he stands at that level. 4 or 5 games might be a good hint

Curtin being a mobile key forward who can push up and back would be a fantastic outcome.

Tex retires, and it's those three plus the small forwards (Rachele, Rankine, Keays, Neal Bullen, etc).

The last thing we'd be doing is wasting money (or picks) on a ruck like Draper. He's not an improvement on ROB - who we either keep, or we roll the dice on ruckmen with some upside.

I disagree with the Jake Stringer comment, Fog has proven he's a reliable 2nd tall seeing we've picked up > 30 goals a season in the last three campaigns against the opposition 2nd best, or occasionally best, defender. Is well on his way to proving to be a good foil for Thilthorpe.

We've already succeeded in replacing Tex.
