The only reason Frost is still at the Hawks is because of his off field leadership. Sammy Mitchell said in an interview this year he is a natural leader and great with setting examples and disciplines for the new players. He also mentioned that Once we don’t need that anymore, he will be delisted with our best wishes. That’s likely to be end of 24 depending on Blancs and Weddles development as permanent AFL defenders.
The best trade we could hope for is trade him to Box Hill Hawks for a second hand footy.

You should visit the North board.

Clarko is into him, more so needed with McKay gone and Logue injured. Would like to early 3rd rounder but think they will settle at North Pick 53.

ideally would like to get North's 39 with our F4 going back( or a late pick in 60's if we have any )

Lol, no one is talking about Frost as a serious trade prospect on our board.

This is thinly veiled bait.
They should be.

When McKay leaves you’ll have Corr and then who….?

It’s either Tomlinson or Frost that Roos will need to bring in as a KPD to help while Logue recovers.

It is Tomlinson, and we have Ethan Phillips training with us over the summer to take the last spot.

Tomlinson is not very good, and I have no idea who Phillips is.
Frost makes some blunders with ball in hand, but is twice the defender of Tomlinson.

Fair to say North’s backline will be a major weakness next year unless you bolster it with a few.

Probably not the thread for it, but...

Frost is just as cooked as Tomlinson is, but at least we know the latter comes from a very good system. Kind of like Shiels in that respect, even if the output is not quite to the standard.

Ethan Phillips is one of the better VFL KPDs and is usually talked about as a mature option come MSD/rookie time, but definitely scrap barrel/warm tall body situation with Corr/Dawson only the ones left with McKay going.

End of the day, besides drafting Curtin as a younger third KPD, North are probably just going to have to make do with makeshift mature, backup and state league options for a season given this year's trade/FA landscape. We are not attracting decent KPDs where we are currently on the ladder, with Logue being the notable exception last year. At least with Fisher/Stephens, that solves some of our outside run problems. One problem at a time I guess.

Can’t agree with that at all. Tomlinson is almost clueless as a defender which is why he gets played on the wing.

You've actually made that up.

If you'd actually done your research or watched and games you'll know that Tomlinson has not played wing since 2020.

He's been a key defender half way through that year when Goody made the shift.

Fair enough, been barely sighted enough to even notice the change averaging under 8 games a year, but he’s quite an ordinary defender.

Exactly.

Why would the Hawks be looking to trade him when they lack key defenders...

& apparently his leadership is invaluable.

Hawks aren’t looking to trade him.

North are going to have Aiden Corr as their sole fit key defender on their list in 2024 at this point, and Clarkson loves a re-tread.

Frosty has hit trigger and is locked in to 2025.
But if Hawks trade in Barrass & Battle, I would guess Frost reads the tea leaves and asks for a trade. His best chance of getting a 3 yr contract at decent $$$ would be now after such a great year as KPD.

Dogs sounds like the best team to get to given they were looking for Barrass and won't be a bottom 4 like Norf in 2025 with flag chances. Who else would he fit best.

Has not given any indications of wanting to leave HFC but won't be thrilled if he is forced to be playing VFL for most of 2025 and compromise any chance of extending his career.
