It’s actually embarrassing. The more poignant issue right now isn’t racism or a multicultural divide, it’s the instability of our government and constant failing to even have members of parliament from each major party even agree with a party head.

This is why we have elections. We can protest at the ballot box. Go march on parliament house, but don't bring it to a sporting stadium! I just loathe sports stars who think it’s their place to offer unasked-for opinions on political issues rather than sticking to what they’re paid for, i.e. playing football! in front of thousands of people who just want to enjoy a game for a few hours! You're an athlete first and a person second for that short time, otherwise hand back your paycheck!

The left still is the same as i first encountered it as a student myself...an enemy of every element of established order (bourgeois sexuality, God, unthinking patriotism, the predatory rich and so on. The argument with faith is the foundation and origin of all arguments, in America they have blurred the line considerably with faith and politics, but can we keep that argument out of the sporting arena for just a few hours? I'm on the losing team with that hope. The day will come when an AFL or NRL player takes a knee during a pre game Grand Final anthem and the team that wins will be well and truly upstaged!

Please explain why this is racist? If he had worn a fake plastic bald dome to pretend he was Nathan Jones would that mean he hated bald men and thought they were inferior? So long as you are consistent I am happy. You agree then that the darling of the liberal left, Muhammed Ali's dear friend, Billy Crystal is a racist? You must also agree that Ted Danson, who was dating and roasting Whoopi Goldberg when he appeared in AL Jolson black face and used the N word at least 20 times in his speech, is a racist. Consistency is very important. Surely using the N word multiple times is more racist than a silly comment comparing a man to a monkey. I know that Newman repeatedly compared Dunstall to an ape for years. He did this because he believed Dunstall looked like a gorilla. I am sure he made the reference to the Malaysian man for the same reason. Call him uncouth or a bogan. I don't believe he has a racist bone in his body.
