He'll be nurtured at Port for a while I think.

Rehn did his knee injuries in early 1995 season, early 1996 season and in the preseason of 1999 and didn't play a game in 1999. I don't think you can say he "played a decent career after the 3rd one," given his prior output. He was ok, but his output wasn't anything like before his first one or after the second one, during the crows premiership years. Adelaide doesn't win the flags in 97-98 without Rehn playing, IMO.

He played 1 more year for the crows and 2 for Hawthorn for 49 more games but he was 27+ when he did it the 3rd time. Skinner was 20 when he did his 3rd knee reco in August 2017.

If Skinner gets a 50 game career at Port then he has probably done very well given where he has come from.

I really like the fact that he has managed to stay on the park these last few seasons which is a good sign.

I 'spose there's 2 ways you can look at this move

1) 3 knee re-cons ='s big risk, at best useful depth/filler OR

2) the guy can obviously play it's 3years since his last knee blow-up and he's cost us nothing

Of course his knee/s could go at anytime but the lad's young hungry and talented. I've got my RCG's on and reckon it's a good move by the club.

In life there's few hungrier than those who've had a taste.
