Softer ground,not too far away but far enough to be out of search range,no solid reasoning I admit but they haven't found her yet

Some of them do but there's not as many super deep ones as people would imagine,most were dug by miners in the 19th century & they didn't have to go real deep to strike gold during the rush

It’s my belief that adventurous kids who grew up in that area over the previous 20+ years would have a fair idea of a lot of the mines. … if was me wanting to hide something in one of them, I’d go for one with a wide enough opening and enough depth for disappearance.

I grew up in snake valley, there are heaps of mine shafts out there, my brother and I were always out bush tinkering around but we wouldn’t have the slightest idea on the depths of any of the mineshafts, you can see the disturbed ground mound, usually covered. We wouldn’t walk to close because mum always told us to stay away. Some may not have even been mines… i dunno… I probably wouldn’t kill somebody then go out to my hometown to find a suitable mineshaft if I were under that stress and panic. Because you would drive out there, look around for ages till you found one, then realise it’s not deep, look for the next one.. oh by the way this would all need to be close to a road as POS wouldn’t have been able to carry Sam that far off track.
Okay so UNLESS, he had planned on killing for sometime and had a mineshaft already. Like had gone out and found something suitable, waited for an opportunity and used said mineshaft as a dumping spot. Hmm I guess this is totally plausible. I would be really interested (as would everyone) what his internet history shows.

I’d like to add that of course SOME kids would know of deep shafts, but probably in the area they grew up. I wonder where he grew up? If it was in that mount clear property his parents were at.

It's been done a few times with no body so they'll be well aware of that and will be preparing for this IMO. If he is locked in at the scene of her disappearance in the middle of nowhere and she has gone from the face of the earth he has some explaining to do IMO.

One case I remember (Jayden Leskie ) those who remember where a body was found between committal and trial.
Not sure what would happen now. If an extension etc would be given. If say a body is found a week before trial.
Even the GL pilot case there was an abandoned trial after a day which led to a other delay after 2 and a half years on remand.
Doubt it will be committal next week but defence would push for firm dates to be set IMO

Burden of proof lies with prosecution, not defense. They’ll need a lot more than just location
