Not sure the Aiyuk videos are being played at normal speed but Lance's throwing motion looked tighter and quicker.

That second throw looks like me playing rubbish can basketball with the bin 3 feet away.

Where does this info even come from? Smoke = fire?
No idea... The politics in the NFL about positions is probably stronger than in any other sport. And at QB it's a million times.

Players have a side, coaches, management that bought one of their guys in.

It's pretty fascinating

The Athletic's Matt Barrows writes that "If the season begun today," Jeff Wilson would again be Elijah Mitchell's primary backup.

Tyrion Davis-Price, Barrows writes, missed a chunk of the spring practices with an injury. As for Wilson, he reportedly looked much better than he did down the stretch, when he was "dealing with the aftereffects of an offseason knee injury." It makes sense for the upside of Davis-Price to be prioritized in a backfield where anyone who gets snaps looks effective, but it doesn't sound like he's made his move on Wilson on the depth chart yet.

NBC Sports' Matt Maiocco believes 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan "appears determined to deploy more of a backs-by-committee approach."

Maiocco said Shanahan's committee backfield approach is in part driven by "legitimate concerns" about Elijah Mitchell's "durability" after Mitchell missed six games (and parts of others) with a range of injuries during his 2021 rookie campaign. Mitchell, who ran for 963 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games, had knee surgery shortly after the Niners' season ended. "Mitchell proved he can be a very good three-down back," Maiocco said. "The only question is whether he can withstand that kind of relentless punishment." Maiocco suggested the team is not encouraged by Trey Sermon's development, prompting the Niners to draft Tyrion Davis-Price in the 2022 NFL Draft. He added Davis-Price and veteran Jeff Wilson -- reportedly the No. 2 back on the 49ers depth chart -- will compete to join Mitchell as one of the top two backs who could be deployed as a committee. In redraft leagues, it's going to nearly impossible to confidently draft Mitchell unless his ADP drops from RB23 to somewhere south of RB30. San Francisco's backfield is shaping up to be as maddening as ever.

To this point, neither the Niners nor Garoppolo have been in a hurry to find a resolution, largely because Garoppolo's right shoulder surgery derailed early offseason trade plans. But Garoppolo and the Niners are increasingly antsy to part ways with a 53-man roster deadline looming Aug. 30. Making the initial roster would guarantee his salary against the cap.

So jimmy will likely be cut by Aug 30 to avoid his salary counting against the cap.... But who knows what the niner think tank has in store....

Great throw, and crazy good reception.

You can see the skills are there. I still expect it will be a bumpy ride over the next season.

We over achieved last year after starting 3-5, making the wild card after winning in week 18 in OT, finishing 10-7 and then turning it in to 2 playoff wins and dropping a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter of the conference championship.

You don't need to be the best team all year, just great in the key moments. Can we be better over time with Lance - I think so, will we have a 10 point lead going in to the 4th quarter if a conference championship.... Not so sure
