Think people are still sleeping on just how good Hazlewood is.

280 wickets @ 24 is pretty special. Now his body is a concern and you have to weigh that up and i get the want for Boland in the team but it is not as simple as just Boland being a clear cut better choice.

We have 4 high quality quicks with more often than not 3 available spots.

great problem to have and may be critical in rotating the 4 in next years ashes where back to back matches occur. in hindsight hazlewood shouldn't have played in brisbane, when we had someone like boland waiting in the wings.

hopefully morris, jhye, spencer johnson and co are all pressing hard, this time next year as they all can't go on forever.

Hazelwood took 35 wickets at 13 so people definitely have that out of sight, out of mind mentality

Yes.

But I'm not sure he goes to Sri Lanka.

I'm not sure Starc goes either for that matter (and I know Cummins won't be).

Starc has 29 wickets @ 17 in Sri Lanka.

He has done well on similar pitches in the WI where he averages 17.92.

If any quick plays Sri Lanka it should be Starc.

I've been his biggest hater the last 10 years, but it's the best I've seen him bowl in years. Most years he bowled absolute shit and eeked out wickets, particularly on the tail. His relatively poor record vs our other quicks still flattered him.

However, I thought he was genuinely unlucky for most of the summer. Looked by far Australia's most dangerous bowler for a lot of it. Boland got the edges, but I'd love to see the play and miss stats.

It's the most control I've seen him bowl with, with a red ball, maybe ever.
