I think you might be wrong on that.

The scar tissue on his ankle should become less of a problem overtime and his kicking will improve.
It takes time for scar tissue to lossen up, become more pliable, I know this from experience.
Sure - I'm not suggesting he'll be at 2015 level forever - there's obviously something very wrong with his ankle, and this will take some time to heal.

There's a good chance that, after another season or two at Geelong, he'll get back to his 'lofty' heights of 2012.

But he'll be 27 by that time and he doesn't have any standout traits that will see our worst fears realised - i.e. that he'll suddenly turn into a superstar and make us look silly for trading him. He will still be a bit fumbly below the knees, still be fairly easy to tackle, still be a fairly poor goalscoring option (which won't affect Geelong as much as us because their mids are more attacking).

And we will more than likely get a more in return for him than we did for Ebert, who is what we're basing our fears on.

We've showed earlier in the year we didn't need him with our young guns Nelson, Sheed, Duggan coming through.

We will get another late first rounder.

We will move on a player who hasn't been at his best for 3 years and what he has been producing has been detrimental to the team.

He might hit 2012 form in the next couple years but I for one will not wait or put up with him in the team until that happens.

We're all the better for him leaving.

Can't think of a better win win?!

Scott is injured and his injury is being managed through selections. Pretty obvious it is limiting his performance and availability. His isn't the vice caption for no reason. I suggest he will regain fitness or unfortunately retire.

So if Scooter can't get over this ankle thing I'm starting to wonder if Geelong will even want to pay him the rumored 500k that would probably be quite crucial for us getting an end of first rounder.

I would think if they put him on say 300-400 and it costs us the good pick we were hoping for, might we match their offer after all?

Although it may be a moot point anyway, as I don't think cap space is much of an issue for Geelong atm and they may just be willing to 'cooperate' to make the trade easier for Selwood and themselves.

Win win suggests that Geelong get something out of this...

If he's injured he should be playing WAFL footy until he is fully fit and back to full form, otherwise it's saying to fully fit guys like Colledge, Nelson etc that a one legged Selwood offers more to the team than they do when fully fit, and we all know that's not true. It's ridiculous that he's stayed in the team so long with such bad form and a possible injury when guys like Butler have been dropped to recover in the WAFL. It makes no sense at all, especially since Butler has been in much better form than Selwood.

This.

It really makes me angry. An utter disgrace that has put our top 2 and finals campaign at jeopardy.

Simpson and Match Committee have to take the blame/responsibility.

Watching the girls play at the MCG.

Most of these girls are better kicks for goal than Scott Selwood.
Their skills were actually very good, and so was their intensity. Was super impressive IMO

WC and cats have an exceptional relationship at the trade table we will not try and screw the cats and nor should we. We will get a fair trade from them no matter what.
Personally i don't see much value in Scott atm, so i don't think we will get much for him, and nor should we.

Exceptional in the sense that they were willing to take our chaff (Spinks, White, Haynes) and give us actual draft picks of value?
