You're the one advocating for smacking a bloke who was 'talking shit' to him.

Did you hear him 'talking shit'?
No good point, I'm only saying that because I've dealt with drunks many times in security firsthand., let's both not guess what happened and find out the true story about the incident before making any accusations.

Well, the story is that he's been charged with assault and is out on bail.

That would generally indicate that this wasn't a case of 'self-defense' and he in fact initiated violence on the other person.

He was going to be in more trouble with the club if he kept silent than if he owned up and that still doesn't prove he king hit a bloke.

You don't generally get arrested and have to post bail for a mild round of fisticuffs.

See Liam Ryan the other week.

Wait til the court case over and a final decision has been made before making any assumptions is all I'm saying.

Well, he's plead guilty to assault, which means it wasn't self defence, which also means he's whacked a bloke severely enough to warrant charges and to have to post bail.

Yes we've established that already, what we need to find out why he did it. I'm pretty sure he was provoked like most recognized footballers are when out in public but that's just my theory. If that wasn't the case then I have no issues with the punishment he receives.

Regardless of who you support, no one at any time ever should condone king hitting anyone. I still remember the shock and horror of David Hookes awful death.

Thankfully no one was seriously hurt in the Balta fracas, but it could so closely ended in tragedy

I don't care if his brother was provoked, Balta should have walked away. There is nothing 'manly' or impressive in trying to fly the flag through fisticuffs, if it was self defence it's perhaps understandable somewhat but that doesn't seem to be the case here

We all remember the hooksy death and that should serve as a reminder coward punches get you nowhere.

He's only charged because the guy went to hospital, I don't know for sure, but I would say the victim was possibly a meth/nose beer head with a glass jaw.
Those sort of blokes fall over easily and hit their noggin on the concrete.

So, he assaulted a bloke, sent him to hospital and you're victim blaming?

Righto.
