Martinis are all well and good, but can you pour a good layered shot - say a B52
Given what we're about to do to these jokers, how about a round of flatliners instead? 🤔

I’m not currently able to do such things. I’m on vacation. 😉
It's Summer time, vacation holiday time!
Everyone's on holiday time/go slow in the heat time.
Listening to cricket and cicadas, reading.....or beach Qricket.

Where is Billsons based? Local brand? I grew up with Hemleys soft drinks being brewed in the town down the road. Loved that stuff! (also a big portello fan)
Back when I lived up here as a teenager Portello was made by BCX (Bendigo Cordial Extracts *.) and it was my drink of choice down the local pool.

Research says Billson's is Beechworth:
"Billson's Brewery is a brewery established in 1865 in Beechworth, north-east Victoria, and is one of the oldest continuing beverage manufacturers in Australia."

It actually tastes exactly as I remember it, so it would have to be made kind of locally, well a bit up the road. Bought it in the IGA never seen it anywhere else before. Will have to buy more stock!

"Bendigo Cordial Extracts (BCX) was established in 1938 in High Street as a manufacturer of cordial.Cordial extracts were not manufactured during World War Two because of sugar rationing, andafter experimenting with pure fruit juice in cordial making BCX won a government contract tosupply cordials to the armed forces in Australia and on the islands north of Australia. Largerpremises were subsequently required, and a new factory was constructed on the site of the GoldenSquare Railway yards to enable access to train transport. In the 1940s BCX purchased T O Hunter, manufacturer of aerated waters, and soon after BCX Pure Fruit Juice Drinks Pty Ltd became thefirst trade manufacturer of pure fruit juice based aerated beverages. By the 1960s, BCX suppliedfruit juice to other drink firms and had opened a self-raising flour plant (Back to Golden Square1964:np). The factory relocated to Belle Vue Road in c1966 (Bendigo at Sandhurst Parish Plan1961, sheet 23)." Ref; Golden Square Heritage Study.

Awesome!

I only have this one old (20 years old?) photo of an empty bottle I kept for a bit of posterity. Hemleys closed yonks ago, probably mid-80s. Was based in Callawadda.

I googled Callawadda. Wimmera pop. 43.
Near the Stick Shed, near the fires over in the West.
Great label, very 60's.

My school bus would stop at the store there sometimes and we could grab some snacks on the way home.

Oooh we are in a cricket thread now. I might be able to dig up some cricket club reference for them.

Yes, chores are done and now to go inside with the AC on. It's 29c at 10am already!
I love hot weather. Spent 10 days on the Gold Coast and it only got to 30 once. By 5 pm, with a breeze, it was too cold for the pool for me.

Went to Port Douglas for the first and last time this year. Never got over 24 and was overcast and very blowie.

If Singapore played Test cricket; eat my dust. I'm moving
