Very hard reading all these posts. First thing PINEAPPLELUMP you are either in denial a huge pot stirrer or just an imbecile. You decide.

Oziroo no idea and don't care if Powelltown were breaching the cap although an audit from AFLOE is like having your best friend correct your math's test. A club isn't handing over books that shows they are over the cap. The AFL Vic audit is the one that can see players be suspended for 12 months if they don't self report.

Powelltown good luck going forward you've copped a fair whack on here a lot is self inflicted but still. Let's hope the latest push is based on numbers and planning rather than emotion to prove a point.

Righto bud you seem to know it all. Emotion to prove a point what you even talking about. The league know what they need to know.

The league know nothing except what powelly’s committee is telling them which is likely inflated versions of the truth. The coaches are even saying they don’t have the players to field sides.

Question.

What involvement does the commission have in this?

Have they been to training or practice matches to see numbers for themselves. Do they monitor clearances in and out or registrations. Wouldn't Nobby be all over this?? The last thing he needs is another Yea then Kinglake catastrophe.

What will happen to the division 1 fixture if there is a scenario that they are unable to get two sides?

Would the team with the bye then play the team scheduled to play Powelltown?

Or a complete fixture reshuffle?

The Red Door - they would probably request to have seniors only before any complete withdrawal would occur.

I noted an interesting comment made about "being up for" playing two games a week each week. Hardly a viable solution for a club to have a number of players doing this for any more than a couple of weeks. History says that it doesn't end well as a season goes on.

Questions - I have no inside info on Powelltown, but why is everyone so confident they are lying or inflating figures? Would coaches really pass on false information? Would coaches be putting a negative spin on the club they supposedly love? Are others still hoping they fall over? What benefit is it to any other club if they do?
I can't quite work out why they are copping the poison they are - is it envy for the flags, is it hope that their club will pick up some extra players? Or is it, as I suspect, their own club is in trouble and while the focus is on someone else their club is out of the spotlight?

I will attempt to answer simply from what we all know.

Trained only 3 times due to numbers the most being an encouraging 14 last Thursday. What condition will they be in round 1.

Lost more than 25 players and at PRESENT have none incoming. Obviously may change. Standard not the concern but that’s a large percentage for any club to lose in one hit. Let alone a club with no juniors.

Have one netball team at best. Where do they play and what do opposing clubs to with their netballers that week.

The fact Powelltown players themselves are telling people it’s over and they don’t know what they’re doing.

The fact the club itself had to make an announcement that they are going ahead would also suggest all is not going well.

Clubs in Div 1 have every reason to be concerned a month out from the season.

The League and above need more than a thumbs up from a distance.

Can remember in Thornton-Eildon’s last season this happening a fair bit.
They were even asking for opposition players to fill in for them.

Not unexpected in U12's but not for seniors. Plus, Thornton had effectively been in palliative care for 2 years. Not coming off the back of 2 flags.

Doggies - in the main people aren't hoping they fall over. In fact most see it better for the league for them to continue. Peoples frustration comes from them following the old recipe at splashing money to get the elusive flag and the regretting it when the travelling show packs up the tents and moves on. Those recipes only have 1 ending and people never seem to learn.

Interestingly nothing has been said anywhere but would / should Coldstream have any reason to be nervous in 2 or 3 years time?
