AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Word is coming out around Berwick Springs that we’re moving leagues officially. Southern is the go apparently
Would imagine it’d be one up one down if Narre and Springs departThe application must of been lodged on the weekend then.
What does this do to the 3 team relegation now?
Didn't you say narre were happy in the league earlier this year? The move of Berwick Springs isn’t surprising but the article reeks of ‘taking the bat and ball’ and going home because we cannot stay in Premier division.
I personally think they should be in the Southern FNL but again if AFL Victoria did their job at the time, the mess that has resulted with the merging of the two leagues and subsequent exodus to places wouldn’t have occurred and an excellent league in the Yarra Valley Mountain District would not have been ruined as a result.
It should be noted the move of Berwick and Beaconsfield into Eastern has not been a success and many clubs resent the decision to allow them in as they have not improved the league in any way. In fact I understand Berwick are looking for a move to Southern for 2025 as they are really struggling due to many factors that have been mentioned in this forum.
The whole thing has turned into an absolute shambles. I would be confident Pakenham and Officer probably will follow suit at some stage too although I do know both clubs are relatively happy in the league.
I did journeyman and the club has been. The decision to move has not been unanimous as a large section of the club wanted to remain in the league. It has caused some division as occurred at Berwick. Will be interesting to see what fallout results. I also believe there is a similar situation at Berwick Springs as a result of their decision.Didn't you say narre were happy in the league earlier this year?

And for what it's worth, the umpires weren't advised of the tribunal hearing.
Shouldn't matter if the umpires showed up or not. They have every game recorded for a reason. Just watch the damn footage. Cannot believe he is going scott free after that display.Find this disturbing if correct. Two players both filmed throwing punches. One was offered 3 weeks the other sent straight to the tribunal. The player offered 3 decided to challenge which was odd seeing the footage it was lucky to be only 3. In this climate for the league to allow both to go un punished is a kick in the face to the remainder of the league.
This coming from the same administration that has sent out somewhere in the vicinity of 50 plus fines for what they call mallees.
