I thought I was back in the late 80's for a minute...
That is an absolute horrendous incident.
I just can’t believe people like this exist on the football field. Chasing after someone and coward punching them. With all the education around it’s perplexing.
Should be 10 weeks with 6 suspended.
Never saw anyone do that in the 80s or the 90s…..or ever really !
And for what it’s worth, my mail is he’ll be back playing after a 3 week break….
That would be a disgrace!! Couldn’t believe what I was seeing when I first watched.
Genuinely a see you next Tuesday act…
Come off it. There is no possible way a local football league could give that 3 weeks

Local footy tribunals are the worst. Usually run by 75yo volunteers who like to apply the rules from “good old days”. They quite often don’t take violence seriously.

Was it a tribunal decision or the match review? I didn’t see the umpire report the player on the video.
As my understanding the match review who look at the video and report is the league.

If he only gets 3 weeks for that the competition is stuffed. That was a dog act that could have resulted in a very serious and possibly life changing injury to the Woori Yallock player. I can’t believe no player from Woori even noticed it.
Absolute lowlife player 22 from Wandin and deserves serious repercussions. I thought the game was well past this crap. Not even I experienced this in my career and I certainly saw some low acts.

Absolutely ridiculous to only be 3 weeks…. Some clubs just get looked after again…. And again.

If I was Woori I’d be going berserk. Herald Sun, News etc. Thats corruption from the league there’s no doubt in my mind.
Woori should just tell the league they’ll be pressing charges against the player. Its happened before to Leigh Matthews

The league don’t care as they handed out the punishment. Wandin have gotten away with this stuff a few times over the years.

I think the match review panel hand out the penalties, using the matrix. Maybe they should have sent it straight to the Tribunal. (which in my experience this year has been fair). Not sure, but can club or the League appeal the match review panel decision?
