Round 12's MOTR between the team that #streaked to the top before going on a 3 game losing streak to the team at the bottom and the team that started at the bottom before rising to the top four of the mountain
Mt. Buller Demons
The Demons second MOTR in a row comes against the Bears at the top of the Mountain, and the team will be hoping to redeem themselves in front of the home fans at the Snow Dome after the Warriors broke their winning streak in spectacular comeback fashion last game day. Mt. Buller have built their impressive form off of the stingiest defence in the league, but now come up against the second tightest backline in the Bears this week and will need to rely heavily on Azarole to add to his tally of 42 goals for the season. Leading disposal getter and Dream Team scorer cooney will be pivotal out of the middle in providing forward entries to his team, and dominating ruckmen/rookie Oddhawk will be looking to continue his excellent tap work on the field as well as maintaining his midfielder like influence around stoppages.
The Odd Hawks rookie season has been an exciting positive for the Demons, their main EKA chance is steadily leading the post count with 1054 for the season and is almost double the second placed player on the Demons list, he has proved himself on the field and has worked hard to put in the extra miles for his teammates off it. Fellow rookies lionaround and BRAB have also impressed in their debut year, and the improved depth of the Demons list helped by the defection of Furies gun sante and Van_Dyke moving into a bigger role at the club has been influential in where the Demons are sitting now.
Prized Demons player**************** Logger was best on ground in a losing effort with a whopping 134 DT points, earning a Kiss of Death for the week whilst Azarole will need to at least repeat his haul of six for the Demons to have a chance. apparently Captain? Smartys Power was down as usual on game day managing only 13 touches for a return of 36 DT points and perhaps needs to look at changing around some things to reinvigorate his career. From last weeks game there is plenty of improvement to be made and the Demons are fully capable of bouncing back to their usual standards this season and securing the four points, even against the top placed side in the competition.
Las Vegas Bears
The hilarity of the Bears losing streak can't be understated. Choking to the worst teams in the league for three consecutive weeks is not a good sign heading into finals, yet with new and improved leadership in captains Matera92 and Dingster, this midway hurdle the Bears can't seem to jump is more than likely a blip in the road than the final destination.
Co Captain Dingster leads all comers for the Bears in DT points and tackles, whilst axed Captain DemonJim has taken to his new role as ruckman with aplomb registering over 108 hitouts so far this season. The inaccuracy of brahj has become a talking point of improvement for the Bears but the star full forward has still put himself well in contention take home an AA medal to sit nicely with his EKA, scoring another 6 snags on the weekend. With very few standouts on the weekend, the stat posting, reliable and core banterer Doctor Gero was one of the only players to be able to hold his head high, trying to will his team to win with 23 touches. Fellow midfielder kane249 , who received a promotion in the Vegas hierarchy this year and is second in the teams disposal count also played well kicking two goals along with 95 DT points.
Young sensation SpaceClef who led the team for handballs and marks only two weeks ago, and is also a quality find for his work off the pitch was a main factor in the bears #streak at the beginning of the season finished down on his usual output against the Hawks registering only 10 DT points and will need to lift to let his team cross the line. Important rover Magruder was leading the Almagamated QOTY Award earlier in the season but an extreme form drop off has correlated with the overall teams and seen him slip out of contention, a big game to burst back into it would be exactly the medicine required for the Bears to break #thestreak.
Who wins?
The Bears will come out firing actually facing decent opposition for once and cement a solid lead before halftime at which point the Demons will slowly bring it back for a nerve wracking finish.
