I tended to avoid friday night work drinks for this reason.

Spend Monday-Friday at the office with people I mostly either tolerate or do not like talking about work, only to go out on Friday Night with the same people and... talk about work.

I understand the criticism as it wasn't revolutionary in the way the 64, Galaxy, and the Odyssey were, but it's enjoyable in its own right even if it didn't really break any new ground.

Odyssey my favourite, btw.

I liked they were trying something different, but get it didn't vibe with most; it really is different to the majority of 3D Mario games, kind of stands out like a sore thumb compared to the others. Wasn't quite the evolution from 64 most hoped for, more exploring an alternative timeline of development, almost.

I’ll bypass it and give Odyssey a go when I next find some downtime. I’ve never touched that one but it found it’s way into my collection via 3D All Stars.
