Also well done to Davo-27, Dr Mantis Taboggan, Strigoi and The Kingslayer. Great to see you all doing the rest of the S28 rookies proud by contributing strongly on and off the field and coming away with a premiership in your first seasons.

I'd say spot on like a leopard, but not really appropriate.

Each of them played vital roles in the triumph of the Drags. Above all they showed wonderful team orientation. None are glory hounds.

U2tigers would have been delighted to see the Rookie with the best name in the Sweet FA - The Kingslayer - dominate in the ruck against a terrific Ruck in Proper Gander. Young Davo showed maturity when moved to FF (which both Ant Bear and JoshWoodenSpoon pooh poohed at the time) and snagged a handful.

Dr Mantis continued his great season and was seemingly everywhere while the Drags' late recruit .Strigoi had a terrific game she will not forget.

For the Dees, our mate Moginie was gallant in defeat.

What a win, Dragons!! We got off to a fairly positive start and had the better of the contest in the first term despite some inaccuracy in front of goal. The second term was excellent, putting the foot down and really pushing home our advantage going into half time. The third quarter was more of a tussle but we gradually gained the ascendancy to extend our lead at three quarter time and put ourselves into a really strong position. Just when the Demons threatened to come at us in the last term, we steadied and put the game beyond doubt with a couple of goals to end the contest and bring the premiership cup to Dragon Island!

Well done to every single member of the side today, mike123, SaltPeter, Bluella, Cold Sober, HawkAussie, Mooresome, Dr Mantis Taboggan, Hatchy1992, Blaze Storm, Strigoi, Knifey Spoony, Pie 4 Life, gym4life, cammo6556, The Kingslayer, AceAndy, Pea Nut, PeanutButter Pies and Davo-27. You can all be extremely proud of what you have achieved and to have to done this while many others have been happy to stick the boots into the Dragons at times this season is a true testament to what we are as a club, to have stuck together and fought our way into the finals, then a Grand Final and then claim the premiership is a superb feat and one that not many players within this competition get to experience.

A special mention too to Pie 4 Life in his 400th game. A momentous achievement and I'm very glad the club managed to get a win for you in your milestone game but also bring home the cup back to Dragon Island, a fantastic way to cap off your milestone match but also the season itself.

Commiserations to the Demons, lead by manangatang. You guys have had another fantastic season and have been up there for the last three seasons now so you can all be proud of what you've done. I know today wasn't the result you were after but you have been the yardstick for a number of seasons and that's something you can take away from this despite the result. There's a number of great people in your side, Tarkyn_24, cats2rise, cooney, Yakker, sausageroll, Headless along with many others so I'm sure there'll be some more success for the Demons in the near future.

Well done Dragons, what an amazing win and something we can be super proud of this season!!

Great team effort today Dragons and a special shout-out to Ljp86 who was in my mind easily the best on ground. The finals streak for Strigoi continues with a 4 game run Pretty much everything we tried today worked and even though we had a handy lead at the last break i didnt rule the Demons out and they certainly came hard in the last quarter but had a little too much ground to make up.

Thanks to the Demons for a great week in the match thread and sharing it with us. Finally, a fantastic year from the Demons skipper manangatang who was All-SFA and the Beez winner and lead the club brilliantly all season.

Still cant believe we have made it all the way to the Grand Final and now are Premiers.

Congrats Andy & all the Dragons. You had it sewn up by half time and kept the foot down. Impressive!

Hope you guys enjoy becoming the hunted in S29.
