Official Match Thread Season 28 Round 1 - Fighting Furies vs Mt Buller Demons at Punt Road

Round one. The ocean is calm: clear skies stretch out as far as the horizon. Welcome to Sweet FA Season 28.

Who will run aground on the sandbar of the sim? Which team will be shipwrecked on the Sweet Barrier Reef? Who can navigate the stormy Straits of Mobbs, and find safe harbour at Dun Lop Stadium on December 15th?

Fighting Furies vs Mt Buller Demons at Punt Road ​

Where they finished: The Furies had every chance to make finals, but a final round loss to the Demons saw them slide to 10th. The Demons won the Minor Premiership, and accounted for the Swamprats in a Qualifying Final thriller, by one point. However, their ship ran aground against the Bears in their preliminary Final, and they will be recorded as finishing 3rd.

Who’s New: The Furies mouthpiece rfctiger74 has gone from bad to worse, and is now known as Ned_Flanders. They picked up The Half Back from the Hawks to berate their posting, and signed rookies Strebi3 & MightyHawks86. The Demons were active in a relatively quiet off-season, picking up free agents Quivorir and akkaps, and picked up rookies moginie and Adroyo in the draft. manangatang has taken the reins, as former skipper Yakker burns out.
