Possibly an outlier but I always found Rove to be an insufferable little pissant, who along with being painfully unfunny himself also unleashed the comedic vacuum that is Pete Helliar onto the world.

Rove was cheesy but was good at what he did. Unfortunately for him he only had one schtick. Fortunately for him people liked that schtick. I agree with your point about Peter Helliar though. Thankfully Helliar's stand up is better than his TV stuff.
