I wish !!!
Maybe add some gray hair...and then remove the top half. Thicker coke bottle glasses, removable teeth and an extra chin or 2 and it’s a spitting image I reckon.
The quintessential Roy’s qooty God.

Looked completely over thought and over done, the Hobbit is a beautiful simple tale and should have been made like that.
The turgid love story with a character created entirely for the mini-plot, the unnecessary Arwen cameos, jamming in Orlando Bloom all over the place, the godawful Great Goblin, Billy Connolly as Dáin (as great as Billy is, it was just way too jarring)...

It was a total shitshow.

When you look back over The Hobbit, it actually makes you wonder how they actually got LOTR right ?? Because either - it was a complete fluke - or they simply reversed every decision they made between the two movies.

Because they got nearly every creative decision wrong for The Hobbit.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got my issues with the LotR trilogy too, but it was bloody excellent overall.

The Hobbit was ****ing awful from the jump; Radagast as comic relief? His ****ing sled? Jesus wept.

I only watched bits and pieces coz my kids had it on but I hated it immediately.
‘We are massive LOTR fans and I don’t know how they got that so right and the Hobbit so wrong, over reaching, trying to be bigger and better, too much extraneous rubbish added to spice up an already perfect book. The Hobbit should have been a beautiful, simple and funny movie, not an experiment in excess...that’s how it looked to me straight up.

So disappointing, we were the freaks that lined up for the LOTR movies at midnight when they came out...with our kids. It was the best movie experience/fun.
After that we were hanging for the Hobbit in such anticipation.
I should have been a Roy then, I would have been conditioned to such bitter disappointment.

I'd argue even that is very optimistic.

Well, I don't want to destroy their confidence too early in the week.

Er, I recall someone last season asking how many they had kicked on spookism pre-match !

it didn’t go well.....

I'll pay that you overperformed in Rd 2.

I'm glad my talents are finally getting noticed.

It's because they were greedy and spread that shit out over three goddamn movies.
I want those 9 hours of my life back

it was very much mired in development hell.
GDT was meant to direct, Jackson never really wanted to, but the studios wanted him, so arguments can be made that his heart wasn't in it as much, disputes with the NZ government, also the differing fps, which some people didn't like.
It did make almost 3 billion on a 600 million budget, so the producers would say they were justified in their decisions.

Paron the intrusion. I just wanted to pop my head in and see what a normal match thread looks like.

This is nice.

So far we've had the Bombers, Bears and Furries. Little word of advice.

Just looking at the stats from last week, Supersuns was an absolute tackling machine, while Runk and cats2rise had the ball on a string. Do the same this week chaps and hopefully our forwards can finish the job.
Quite frankly I would be happier if I had to do less work.

that face when you come into a match thread and people are cordially discussing the awful Hobbit movies: 🤗

Discussing Supersuns sex tape in public is quite frankly disgusting and you should be ashamed.

I was director of photography on that project, I just wanted to share my work. 😑

That explains why I'm so confused. I mean sure, I've heard of the Hobbit. I've even seen the cover of the book. But beyond that I have NFI what these nerds are talking about.
