Season 31 Round 5: Mount Buller Demons vs Fighting Furies at Snow Dome
Overview
Good evening SFA. As part of the latest recruitment drive , we are targeting the magical community. Afterall, both of our sports start with a Q and are fantasy related. So as a way of making qooty more accessible whilst complying with the International Statue of Secrecy , we, The Weird Sisters are holding a song contest for prematch entertainment . As Dumbledore once said , music is a magic beyond all we do here!
Yesterday, The Demons beat the Dragons at the their own game in a comeback classic meant for Quidditch Through The Ages. They will be hosting the winless but still Fighting Furies, who are coming off a 5 point loss to the Warriors and will be looking to have more Felix Felicis go their way.
Last Time They Met
In the Abbot and Costello-themed round hosted by Fred & George back in Season 30, Round 4, the Demons continued their L-W-L pattern with a comfortable 4 goal Win over the Furies. Tarkyn_24 scored 2 goals but could've easily ended up as the Demons' Superman with Five Votes For Fighting against the Furies if it wasn't for inaccuracy. Ruckman Proper Gander was best on ground with 10 hitouts, 1 goal, 85 DT points and 3 Mobbs votes whilst senior Demon DemonJim capitalised at Rambling Rover with 6 marks and 2 Mobbs votes.
Songs to Watch
Everyone hates Ned Flanders and the Furies this season due to their Slytherin-style match thread persona but credit where it's due for his 94 DT /26 touch game on the weekend. Skipper Tigerturbulance had 10 hitouts in a performance that epitomised quality over quantity, and is set to lift his game even further off the back of a Hot Tub session which turned into a full-blown Cauldron Full of Hot Strong Love. Mister M overcame Broken Wings to manage 109 DT points on the weekend despite his inaccuracy in front of the sticks (1.5). Meanwhile, Nearly Headless Nick will continue to press for all-SFA from his coveted Interchange .
On the other end of the scale, TJASTA 's series of dislikes and requests to ask people to F*** it look set to backfire as he firms as the Loser / Billy favourite.
