Well, that's what nail clippers are for... kicking ass

In a brief digression from normal banter, I'm only pointing out that most nail clippers are flimsy pieces of scat. I actually hoarded an antique nail clipper I salvaged from my maternal grandma's house for decades, just because it worked so well. Then a friend pointed me to Kai... they're every bit as sturdy and precise as the old ones.

Guinness and the tropics.

Not an iconic duo.

I dunno man, we spent our honeymoon in Antigua (Caribbean, but absolutely tropical), and I was able to drink a ton of Guinness even on the streets of Saint John (from bottles, of course).

SOW, I kept a bottle as a souvenir

Anyone follow Gaelic at all? Thinking it might be worth trying to have a watch and following a team
Presumably they play in our off season.
Well i'm a passionate supporter of Cork in that mate, although supporting them can be a frustrating experience at times!

We have 7 all Irelands in it, which leave us in fourth place behind Galway with their 9 titles. Dublin have 31 and Kerry have 38 titles.

So if you want to support a team that wins all the time either Dublin or Kerry is the team to pick.

To be frank with you the sport has become bit of a poor spectacle over the past decade. There is new rules being introduced next year to try and encourage more positive attacking play. So hopefully that should make a difference.

Of our national sports hurling is way more fun to watch imo. Cork would be one of the traditional powerhouses in that.

In spite of that though we haven't won an all Ireland since 2005, although we narrowly lost the final this year!

If constantly losing finals is your thing then go for Mayo. They haven't won an all Ireland since 1951, and have lost all eleven of their all Ireland final appearance's since!

In regards to that i suppose you'd want to be careful about, where you drink when you go abroad in certain countries mate.

I've heard about those poor Australian girls in Laos whose drinks were poisoned. Both are sadly dead now and there's an English girl who lost her life as well.

Antigua-Barbuda is dependent on tourism for over 80% of their GDP, doesn't help to kill the geese that lay golden eggs.

Unfortunately, women also have to be way more on their guard than men in those situations. But I suppose more than one dude has woke up somewhere in an ice-filled bathtub, now sans kidneys but with a note saying "Call an ambulance, or you will die." :(

Criminal sickos aside, the Antiguans were at least outwardly friendly to we honkies, and all my Guinness were in the original bottles. I had to ask her to keep one cap, as it also said "Guinness Is Good For You" which is not a slogan they'd use in the USA.

If they really wanted to poison us, the resort would have been perfect opportunity. All inclusive drink package, so they'd make them super strong to keep us from bugging them too often.

I remember reading the brochure and being sorely disappointed that the bars closed at 10pm. Well, by the first night, and already 12 hours into my bender, I was perfectly OK with that closing time.

Actually, that's pretty normal banter. Very few weeks go by in the SFA without someone mentioning an old nail clipper from their grandma's house.
