Can't sleep thinking about Sunday's game. Hope I'm not underdone, coming out of retirement - all been so unexpected. Forward pocket ... dream position. Can't let Mobbs down. Dragon Island (ljp's Lair) with a brand spanking new astrocarpet surface in place just in time for this weekend's season opener v the Roys.

Mooresome sorry but that tree stump on the flank where you liked to sit down between plays and rub your feet ... that had to go. Failed the OH&S audit which the Lair had avoided through refusing and ground reworks for approx 20 seasons.

Here at the Roys we do pride ourselves on respectfully treating the facilities offered to us by opposing teams when they host, and in that vein I will have a chat with Fleabane about the negative PR we'd get if anyone was spotted dragging their butts across the new astrocarpet.


Also please let attendees know that a new terrace is now open on the south-west flank, offering casual viewing and a little shade from overhanging trees. serial_thrilla may enjoy the easter egg in the background. I call it an easter egg tho it's actually an Easter Island egg, which is a good match for his massive head.

Also Mobbs out of interest as someone who's literally never played Minecraft, why was the ground originally covered in torches?

The game has computer-generated enemies, eg the creepers, and other monsters amusingly known as "mobs". For the very very most part, they only spawn in places of extremely low light level and at night.

The torches just mean they can't spawn and so we can march around town without fighting bad guys every second step.

The carpet I used to cover the ground now is non-spawnable, meaning "mobs" can't randomly spawn in there.
