I was told (perhaps inaccurately) that pre WCE, North was the most popular team in WA because a number of West Australian played there, most notably Barry Cable.
Ive assumed it to be true until this very moment.
I even thought recently when they were talking about a 3rd WA team south of Perth in Bunbury or wherever the talk was, that they should move North there if they are popular.
Now I find out they are only 7th most popular

What you were told was accurate.
They're absolutely in the mix with those other Victorian teams listed for most popular. They've been hurt by being so poor for a prolonged period, so why would a kid go for them unless they have ties to the club.
