Entering a team into the new season without deliberately naming a captain is grounds for a Bringing The Game Into Disrepute charge.

This is risky territory and opens the door for anyone to claim “ownership” of the club in Season 39…

To do that, a club would need to have failed to lodge a squad in the appropriate thread. Luckily it didn't happen this season, although one team cut it very fine.

Has it ever happened before?

Not sure how "anyone" could claim ownership of a club, even as a hypothetical. They would need to already be a member of the club and therefore partly an owner anyway.

I will therefore be announcing that we will be folding this season.

You are not part of the LG at the club and are therefore ineligible. This need for you to self-appoint to positions you are not capable of filling is getting alarming.

Going by your squad submission it's a statement Jabba as the bombers have not named a captain in their squad submission despite every other club managing to do so

If every other club failed to submit a squad, would you expect us to blindly follow suit?

Please show me where in the rules it says a team must name a captain. It is a simple request.
