AFL put up an article on him.

180cm 67kgs and if he was one day older he'd be in next years crop, I guess the thinking is that he seems driven, attacks the ball, has good skills and we would be basically picking up a player at #47 who we figured could have become a top 20-30 pick next year if he was a day older.

Played 9 games for the Bushrangers (in the best 4 times) and averaged 13 touches at 70% efficiency

A late @AFLDraft whisper: Dogs & Kangaroos keen on Murray Bushranger Kayne Turner. Come from the clouds.
I'm not sure we need a college dropout on our list, are you sure he even nominated? Cos I heard his was a late registration. Gotta hand it to him though, the name of his first child seems to indicate he's keen to come to us.
More likely to end in Heartbreak though.

Seen him play?
nope because he didn't play in the champs where the higher rated prospects play. Thus haven't even heard of him and i doubt others have either, not to mention he is 67kg. Players who lack physical development and runs on the board but with upside are rookie prospects.

Like Luke Breust.

With a shallow draft it might be an opportune time to take a punt on a bottom ager who may come on in leaps and bounds in 2014.

Anyhoo, interesting development.

well done you managed to find one anomoly.
I'll back the high production players over the hope that some random player that wasn't good enough to get picked for the champs will be like Luke Breust and end up better than those who have produced more.

and also breust was a rookie pick which further proves my point
EDIT: Breust played in the champs unlike this kid thus not a valid example on your part, along with the fact that he was a rookie pick

Gee, thanks buddy.

And I'll back our paid, professional recruiters over internet experts. They obviously have an interest for a reason.

i'm sure they have an interest in many kids for many reasons. My point is that he is a rookie prospect.
My point is that they may think differently than you.

67 kilo's. ffs. Who are we, worldvision? That was rude I apologise

Looks like a real nugget and should add to our inside grunt.

Draft code words to look out for tmrow:

“Significant upside” = currently useless.

“Coaches’ favourite” = the least skilled player in the draft.

“High ceiling” = arse-covering pundits hedging in case he becomes a star despite their unremarkable outlook on him.

“Athletics background” = the most unco-ordinated person you’ve ever seen.

“Working hard on his inside game” = waits out the back for a handball.

“Close-checking defender” = borderline psychopath.

“Stoppage king” = slow.

“Strong personality” = loose cannon.

“Intelligent kid” = a bit wimpy.

“A bit one-paced” = that pace being slow.

“Smokey” or “speculative pick” = we have no bio info on this
kid. He may not actually exist.

Aaron Black was laying carpet during the u/18 championships, he was brought into Perth because he kicked 17 in a bush league game......

He's turned out alright.....

Jack Darling board...

One of those AFL offseason things tweeted a whisper that North is keen on Sully at 47.

I'll throw it in here fwiw, but I can't think of a North pick since Ziebell that has been whispered, predicted or wished-for on this board. Anyone correct me?

McKenzie was whispered well before draft day. Was an obvious choice.

James Sicily in this draft is 6 days into the 2013 group, had he been born 6 days earlier he would have been in last years crop and would likely not have been drafted. Now he is going to be a pick in the 20-30 range, so you have to consider just how much of an impact a whole year has on people this young.

Looking at Knightmare's Phantom (as he provides dates for a lot of potential draftees), there are 3 draftees born in December/1995 and 19! born in January/1995, a year is a long time in a 17 year old kid's development. For more correlation between age and draftees there were 15 from October to December, 26 from July to September, 34 from April to June and 40 from March to January.

I wouldn't mind drafting Kayne, apparently there will not be much left at #47 so why not draft a bloke who very well could have been a top 25 pick if he was born a day later. It sounds like he interviews really well and will give it his all if drafted, so it could easily be a huge success story for the club.

I remember Mitch Wilkins' sister tipped him going to North on twitter, but you would have been a good detective to find that before the draft.
Or her stalker.

You're in SA, yeah?

So with Luke we have got a potential loose cannon who is currently useless and a borderline psychopath, in which pundits have a current unremarkable outlook on. Not to mention all his other terrible pre-draft habits. What a waste of a top ten pick :p
