Game Day SEMI-FINAL: West Coast Eagles vs Geelong

Only issue I have is that itā€™s only been a couple of hours since the news broke. Reckon if it came out on Monday or something and weā€™d had a couple of days to reset weā€™d have no problems.. but a lot of them are probably still trying to comprehend what happened. Could go either way. Either weā€™re angry and pissed off (RIP Geelong), or weā€™re flat and canā€™t be arsed. Obviously hoping itā€™s the former..

The teams resolve and resilience was tested last year after a number of incidents, some times i wonder how much the players can take before it ends up breaking them. They do appear mentally strong though it seems

Here's one from the geelong board to give us all a laugh...:laughing::laughing::laughing:

"Can't disagree with Sam on this, lthink Stanley has the tools to at least neutralize Nicknat even beat him.
His effect at ground level can be underestimated all the same, with his huge frame hard to get around. Stanley will need to screen him for our mids to prevail imo.
I hope he's really switched on tonight and forgets his being omitted last week"

and

"I have always thought he was very overrated. The athleticism dazzles everyone, but he is absolutely not a natural footballer. "

You would think at some stage, certain people would stop trying to discount NN as a player (i.e. Zac Clarke is a better ruckman :)).

Much prefer to rate him on his teammates views and those of current AFL players who have to run onto a ground against him.

Weā€™ve won the centre clearances in 100% of the games Nic Nat has played. We win them 36% of the time without him.

Opposition fans - ā€œNic Nat is overrated, heā€™s not even that goodā€
Also opposition fans - ā€œI hope Nic Nat is suspended for the final next weekā€.

Pundits - ā€œNic Nat is slow around the groundā€
Also pundits - ā€œNic Nat goes too fast for a bloke his size, that sort of impact is dangerous to other playersā€.

All fan bases tend to overrate their players, but this isnā€™t a ā€œNic Nat is better than xā€ conversation. When an entire fan base is in total agreement that someone is their most impactful player, beyond any question, people who casually tune into an occasional game should probably take that to have a bit of merit.

TBH I think this sort of comment is why I really, really want to see us smash Geelong:
I simply said I never ran my mouth off all year saying Geelong were s**t. Why would I. I tipped us to finish 1st at the start of the year.

You were lucky last year ... lucky you were gifted two home finals and a dream match-up against a team you structure up well against.

What I've been saying all year is the Eagles are overrated (proven right when they didn't make the top 4) and they wouldn't beat Geelong in a final at the MCG (Still yet to be proven right)

**** Geelong, **** their fans (just as bad, if not more worse than Richmond supporters) and, especially, **** them for keeping Tim Kelly hostage. I want blood.

Oh wow, nearly forgot there is a game tonight.
Really hope the boys can focus on the game at hand, we are a better team at our best so please be at your best boys.

The guy's I am most concerned for are Ryan and to a lesser degree Jetta. Hope they don't be to distracted by things they can't control.
