The club had no business hiring such an inexperienced coach to steer such a re-build.

We need to move on. Because we can't afford to keep looking back at the mistakes of the past. We haven't looked forward as a club for years. Who's fault was recruiting? Who's fault is development? What is our game plan? Who gives a ****!!! Let's fix it and start getting better.

I want Neeld gone but he shouldn't be sacked until a proven coach is ready to take over.

No point getting three inexperienced coaches in a row.

Now!!! Sack him tonight!

To those people saying what's the point of sacking before the season is over, what's the point of keeping of him? The players have all gone backwards under him. The club has gone backwards and we can't afford to continue.

I'm sure choco Williams has a clause in his contract he can leave if he gets a senior gig. Get him in now, give him a 5 year deal, whatever it takes. Let him have a good look at the list before the end of the year, so he can make better decisions about them. Give us a 12 month advantage on hiring one at the end of the year and needing a year to work players out.

Make it happen, and the assistants and board can follow him soon enough.

Just on the assistant coaches, where were they today? I couldn't see them, were they there?

Mark Williams is not the answer, he's finished as a senior coach. Paul Roos, Alistair Clarkson or possible

Worsfold with Kevin Sheedy as head of our football department. sack all of our assistants if they haven't already been sacked. Get Gary Ayres as an assistant as well.

Who was that bloke on Neeld's right??? I've never seen him before. And given the fact that Todd Viney was on Neeld's left (They apparently had a run-in over recruiting and don't have much to do with each other), you'd think the club was already keeping a close eye on Neeld. Neeld spent time on the boundary line today. The communication was down between the box and the bench. Hmmm. I wonder....

On Choco, every GWS player I've heard has said how good he was for them, and plenty of their players have stagnated since he left. Richmond players/coaches can't speak more highly of Choco. We have a young list, even if he comes in as senior coach to develop the youngsters before someone else takes over so be it, but his development work speaks for itself.

We won't get Clarko, and Roos doesn't want to do it so I don't want him. Roos is happy being considered the saviour of everything and doesn't want to tarnish his reputation

Still doesn't mean much to me that every GWS player loves him, Richmond players blah blah. **** me Melbourne players can't speak more highly of Neeld & Co. He's done.

I have said all along that there is no point in sacking Neeld before the end of the season, then 2 things today changed my mind.. now as you will all know I post here a lot less than most of you, but I never talk shit to big note myself so please take what I'm about to say seriously..

I was talking to my old boy this morning and the bloke that came up to home this week to finalise a tractor sale for us (we have a farm west of ballarat) is great mates with Chips dad Michael.. they got talking about James because of the members fixture on the fridge and he straight out said that come the end of the year James, Watts and Sylvia are all out.. James has had enough of Neeld, said the players all have no idea what he wants them to do and that the game plan is practically non existent.. They have all had enough of the crap..

Second thing that pushed me over the line today was that performance and simply thinking that we are simply shit and I don't know how we are going to get better, especially if guys are going to walk out on us, guys that are suppose to be our future..

Just F*** off Mark, you've ruined our list and brought our club to it's knees.. the hardest team to play against alright, because all the opposition want to do is piss themselves laughing

Looking at things from Northern Thailand, we appear to not be traveling all that well ATM.
Might as well suggest 1 or 2 changes at the club like everyone else.

1. We stand firm on wearing our tradition Red/Blue jumper more. Even at training.
2. Get Junior McDonald, R Flower and D Swartz back to the club in some form.
3. The time is right for G Lyon to get some grey hairs and repay the club, and coach alongside Viney, Mission, Junior and Swartz. This will get some culture/soul back into the club.
4. Get/trade B Mclean back.
5. Trade: Pick 2/Watts for an elite midfielder eg: S Mitchall, B Gibbs type player.
6. Trade: Sylvia/Jamar for D Presta.
7. Trade: Frawley/Picks for T Adams.

Looking forward to the 2nd half of the season and next year. Go Dee's.

We couldn't figure out who was on Neeld's right.

Could it have been Matt Burgan, by any chance?

Viney was at his left. Craig and Mahoney on the bench.

Where the hell where the assistants.

Definitely wasn't Matty Burgan. I've never seen this bloke before. At training, nowhere. Meaningless stat's bloke??

I hope its started. Brown should never have been there in the first place. We just sit & wait now until the end of the season. We can not sack mark now unless we have the coach we want. At years end Neeld can also take the shit he brought in to the club. How on earth did we give Pedarson a 3 year deal. Please can someone on here explain the reasoning behind this. He shouldn't even be on the ****ing list. Why did we get rid of a mobile ruckman yet keep Spencer/Gawn.

I've had enough now. The trades for Mitch Clark and Jesse Hogan are about the only positive things I can take out of his time with us.

Appointing Grimes and Trengove as co-captains was the first iffy moment. Dunn was given a 2-year contract - what the ****? Magner was shining for us last year but he ruined him by playing in these ******ed forward roles.

The recruitment of, Rodan, Gillies, Byrnes, Pedersen and Dawes has destroyed this club. They're adding nothing to the side and are all past the point of improvement. The fact that WE TRADED for some of these blokes - cannot flipping believe it!!

I agree with this, except for Dawes.

Gillies, Rodan, Pedo - shit.

Byrnes - downhill skier, past his best.

Dawes was very disappointing today, however.

Agree with everything you say here except Dawes, I think even when he isn't playing at his best he still has the right mental fortitude to contribute a lot of value to the playing group.

Yeah, I agree that it bit early to call on Dawes and I think he could come good, fair enough to call me on that one - but it just bothers me that we traded pick 20 and 45 for him.

I try to look at our list from young guys we can look forward to seeing and there aint much, would've liked another kid in the draft. We could've tried send pick 45 with Stefan Martin to get a second round pick from the Lions instead of the junk 3rd and 4th rounders we got... or chase someone like Koby Stevens, or combine 20 + 45 for another 1st round pick... so many other options I would've liked to see.

I've been a huge supporter of Neeld and had faith in every decision he has made. But 7 years of football misery has me abandoning the romance of his plight. I want nothing more than it all to come together and we see Melbourne rise from the ruins of the past 7 years and start winning games.

But the way we play is so far removed from all other teams that I've got no hope.

Unfortunately this area is the job of the coach. I can't understand why we are so inept at everything. The players don't escape blame but its the coaches responsibility to bring it all together and he has failed.

I find myself not caring about Melbourne. My Melbourne supporter friends half joke that maybe we should just break up with the Dee's as you would a girl in school and move on to someone better. Half joke.

I believe (like many of you) that Mark Williams is the man for us (not just because he is one of the few people crazy enough to come to our disappointment of a club). Williams won a premiership, with the limited resources of the Port Adelaide football club. He managed to get his team to several finals campaigns and is still passionate for the job.

But what to I know, I though Mark Neeld would be a fantastic coach and charge us up,the ladder after the bailey era.

I just don't remember what it was like to be a member of a team that gave itself a chance to win every game, to be a member of a team that wasn't a complete blight on the AFL.
