With ya on this doona, and some of the bloody lbw decisions are having an impact on the younger players, they hate ( as we all do) getting fired out to a shocker just as there getting there innings going, its not good.
My buddy at the hill was telling me there umpy on the weekend made good decisions but was over the top with the players, arguing with some, and at one piont telling the bowler to just bowl the ****ing ball.

My buddy at the Hill vs B'Ford game was telling me the umpire did a fantastic job. a couple of young Hill bowlers didnt enjoy getting called for wides on deliveries down leg and were spraying the umpire for calling them throughout their bowling innings. after an onslaught of redicule the umpire finally said, 'im the umpire so i umpire, you're the bowler so u bowl, i dont tell you how to bowl...how about showing some respect!'
the umpire deserves praise for his actions...he was extremely consistant with his calls for the entire days play
my advice for the young Hill bowlers would be, dont bowl down leg side and you wont get called for wides!!

i agree wasi BUT some umpires are calling wides on anything down legside its not a aust v who ever 1 day game i think they might watch to much cricket on tv,and as for calling a wide on some of these c grade pitches please if it stays within the concrete you cant call them wide

good call mate. totally agree, last season playing in the benalla & district comp, the umpires were the same there too. i'd open the bowling with the new ball and it'd be swinging a mile and they'd be calling wide to some pretty decent deliveries actually. was a bit of a joke.

From someone that was at the second part of this game, the stuff with the E/Hill bowlers and the umpire was nothing.
There was some bad blood between the bowlers and one of the batters.
This was unusual as the Hill boys and Broadford generally get on verywell.

I would like to say that the young bloke Berry looks the goods, he batted very well, I didnt see him bowl but the hill boys thought he realy showed some promise.

Oh Wasi you dont have a buddy at the Hill do you, you made that up, did you have hit at kings park on Saturday?

maybe if all of the umpires in the league were as consistant as the ump in question then we would all be a lot happier??? and im guessing the umpire in question is the same umpire who has been awarded quite a few A grade finals for recently for his consistancy?? perhaps a few of the eastern hill youngsters couldnt see where the ball was going because their hair may have been in their eyes:eek:

The umpire was Peter Baker and I realy think he does do a pretty good job, as he did on Saturday, he is imo very good with lbws, the wide thing is just what it is some umpires nearly ignore all together and others are all over it, can be frustrating for bowlers at times I feel for the umpires here because there on there own I dont think there is a clear objective from the SDCA as how they should rule on them.

The Hill bowlers have plenty of product to keep the hair out of there eyes, I mean plenty of product, I woudn't mind being there supplier would be making a fortune lol.

Unsure how accurate the mycricket site is, how are the ladders looking? Also when will Seymour CC be adding scores etc, surely Joeyboy Pollock must be amongst the leading wicket takers to date?

Kilmore 9/139 keeper(forgot name sorry) 42. a phelps 2/25 d evens 2/29

thornton 4/140 t dent 41 d evens 25 s parker 21

The site depends on all clubs contributing. Unfortunately at this stage there are several of the A-Grade clubs, let alone B-Grade clubs who either haven't touched the site or have been slack with the site. So until that happens it won't be as useful or accurate as it could/should be.

Looks like the same old same old, the older guys at the club gets the info sets it up and then ignors it, when asked to give the access to some one who will do it they wont..

Yeah that does seem a bit silly phanto, many hands make light work as the old saying suggests - spread the load and if there are guys interested (and have the time) in helping never turn them away.

Can anyone confirm for me that Avenel and E/hill will play the oneday final this Sunday in both A and B grade ? and what grounds will be used.
From what i heard phantom thats right came from a good source too and i think it will be avenel for A and kings park for B its all being confirmend tonight

went to the A grade oneday final yesterday, was one of the best games i have seen for ages, avenel batted first making 5 for 210 nearly all there batters made runs, willie wheeler proberably the best with 60 odd, E/hill struggled early being 3 for about 20 when dallas bergowics and jack smith/williams started to rebiuld there innings, berga got out just after drinks mesiti made a few then young josh pruden joined smith/williams, they batted very well getting them within stricking distance needing 12 to win from the last over they fell 3 short, great game.
