Tallarook's middle to late order fought back from 4/40 to post a competitive 209 at Broadford. Al Callaghan led the way with 40, Grant Hately and Clint Capuano both got about 25 with young Dave Martin unbeaten on 35. For the red & blacks, Robbie Douglas (4/25 from 16) & Trav Blackwell (4/51 from 25) did the damage, Adam Mumford taking two wickets.

Think it was 4 dropped catches and a possible stumping that coulda made it a different story, but I think by bout 5pm tomorrow the runs should be overhauled.

I did hear Avenel got 210 with Pearcey making about 75, any report or scores from lower grades?
i did qualify for B grade doona last minute knowledge to me, ummmm we lost the toss and tallarook had a hit they got off to a slow start but kept wickets in hand making 265 off their 80 overs cricket hately gettin 85 no batting like he always does craig sherwood woulda made about 30 odd and pete moulding got a few in the last overs, bowlers were groova with 2 fa 30 odd, young brendan renfry 1 fa 30 odd teddy wingrave got 1 or 2 fa about 40 odd i think but young phil didonanotoe or wateva bowled very well for no wickets. should be a good chase tomorrow on a great looking batting deck and a small and fast ground.

Will be a fair effort to get those, need to be only 2-3 down at tea with Dozza and Lebidka up ya sleeves. Where will u bat, and Chappy too who may be also a key to your fortunes.

doesn't matter where u guys bat u won't beat the rook b grade. best batting performance i have seen for awhile from our b grade, built the innings beautifully! maybe helped by the fact eastern hill played some part time bowlers near the end who got taken to!! Great effort by cricket again with some good cameos from dynamic, zochy and woogie. Only had the chance to blossum because of the hard work of the top order!!

After weeks of controversy is appears the Jazz is back on the bandwagon, or is it just the night out or the time you posted pal?

Agree that everything will have to go right for the Hill, and batting first in a final has surely helped the old legs of the Rookery you keep telling me about.

I heared Yea C2 hav advanced 2 the final in a tight match against the hill...havnt got any scores tho.

2 words HILL WON

Tallarook got over Broadford by 50 runs to advance to the season decider. Big opening spells by Joey Tarran and young Irving had the home side at 5/30. Trav Blackwell (22) and Brett Spargo (48) put on 55 before quick wickets had the score at 9/120. Youngsters Tyrell Dunne (35) and Matt Irving (14 n.o.) batted with some fight but at the end of the day the early collapse along with four ducks made the task too big. Joey finished with four scalps, Irving three, two run outs with Dundon bowling Dunne to wrap it up at 156.

Couple of big ins looming for the Rook, Sam Watts should get up and Cricket got 80 odd in the B's, or could BF's favourite son Joey Pollock clean a few up in the car park Thursday night and get his spot back . . . . . who's it gunna be lads!!!!

Although the boys fell at the 2nd last hurdle, Broadford enjoyed a very good season which has blooded plenty of kids - Collier x2, Dunne, Irving, Ingham, Hippisley to name a few which has the club in good shape for the future, with Chippa, Spargo and Mango Moran still early 20's also.

Dont even wanna tip a winner for next week, hope for Howie's sake he does alright and my relo Smithy up at Avenel has had fair form since Xmas and deserves it too.

Think Singy and Ando have the job :thumbsu:

14th Tiger is correct Yea2 will play Kilmore at Molesworth I believe.

Mike ockerts? I'm not surprised, maybe if you stopped choking the F***ing thing it may get a chance to recover.
Eastern Hill were worthy winners with Dozza and Chappy outstanding performers but to suggest that the Tallarook boys were in any way cockey or ahead of themselves is a crock of sh*it. I'm not sure who you are or whether you played in the game but to cast those dispertions is poor form and un-called for.I offer my congratulations to Eastern Hill on a great game and wish them well for the GF next week.
Oh and by the way Lil man #34 your right, Hill did win and I'm sure Jac they where grateful for your contribution though i wonder if you have informed them yet of your intentions for next year.

yes i did play L/M as did you, its just my opinion on what i saw, with 265 on the board, you could well be confident, but i just got the impression you guys thought you had it won before a ball was bowled in anger on day two, as i stated before, just my opinion:eek:

Well mate, your well entitled to have an opinion but I'd be real interested to know what it was you saw that lead you to believe that we were in any way ahead of ourselves.
For the record, we were happy with our batting performance, mainly from the point of view that the top six scored the bulk of the runs which had not been happening often enough of late and of course we hoped 265 would be enough, but at NO stage were we in any way over confident or cocky. When Cricket Hateley addressed the group after the first days play he reminded everyone that the hard work was still to be done as he felt that your batting strength was going to be our biggest hurdle to overcome and stressed that we be prepared to field for 80 overs on day 2. How that translates to being ahead of ourselves is beyond me.
Eatern Hill thoroughly deserved their win because, when push comes to shove, you played the better cricket for most of the weekend and for what its worth I think that you'll go on to win the flag. By all means be proud and excited about your achievments on the weekend as you are well entitled, but please don't tarnish the spirit in which the game was played or belittle peoples opinion of your club by making unsubstansiated coments about your opponents. As I said earlier Poor Form.

Doona who was the unfortunate young fella who lost by 7 balls and had 2 do a nuddie run across the oval on sunday?
