Fellas,

I'm looking for a game of cricket in the Seymour comp on January 6.
I'm prepared to travel anywhere. So give us a shout if anyone has a spot available![/quo

Come to the rook mate, best ground, best facilities, best functions, best social club in the league. Wont be dissapointed.

What and play B's and finish runner-up for a 4th season!!! Back to work joeyboy - in fact see at lunch soon for a look at the cricket on the big screen :thumbsu:

I was speaking to Sam the other day and I wouldn't mind the 'Rook.

I figure it's hard to write up about a competition I don't get to see or play in.

I know most blokes in the Gisborne comp now and I know the way the game is played.

As a player of the cut and square drives, which pitch is most likely to suit me boys?

Don't mind a hook shot either, but have been known to chop on to the stumps (twice this year, how stiff is that?)

My tips for this round are:

Royals v BROADFORD
Tallarook v EASTERN HILL
Kilmore v AVENEL
SEYMOUR v Yea

Fellas,

I'm looking for a game of cricket in the Seymour comp on January 6.

I've been a long time opening batsman and wicketkeeper for Romsey (8 years), but recently helped Lancefield re-form and have been captaining the seconds and playing ones when required. (Although Lancefield aren't in a high grade I have played in high grades at Romsey).

I wouldn't call myself a great cricketer, but am keen to play in the SDCA next season and on turf. The only turf experience I have had was junior rep cricket.

The GDCA doesn't start back until Jan 13, and was wondering if any clubs would be interested in giving a 19-y-o keeper/batsman a gig for one game.

I'm prepared to travel anywhere. So give us a shout if anyone has a spot available!

Thought your bro Mark would have lined you up to play at Yea...

Royals V Broadford (Unless Royals give soloman a crack at opening bowl)

Kilmore V Avenel (If Enrico pulls his finger out, at club level)
Seymour V Yea (L Atkins to bore Seymour to death)

You Umpiring this week Doona?

Gday boys just played our second rnd of 20/20 its great we knocked up 178 in our 20 with some of the greatest cross bat slogging you will ever see then they batted shut up shot and made 4/50 in there 20 ( due to the bonus point system),snapped my new bat in half GN Fusion if you have one dont be surprised if the handle is full of putty like mine was there were 3 other blokes with the same bat and it had happened to them this year anyway hope you all keep cross bat slogging

Avenal lost to Kilmore
Avenal 179- Kilmore 9-180 in reply, Robbo making 74 after last weeks 75, hitting sum good form!
any other games

Eastern Hill All Out 125. Tallarook 6-126 in reply.

Jason Tarran took about 5-15, Hager musta got about 30 for Hill. Few 30 odd scores for rook, but no one really went on with it.

Pollock with his first bowl for the year got the break through needed, dismissing Hager for 30 odd and T. Smith in the same over, the hill looked set for a big one until the part timer came into the attack. Hager taking 14 off his first over but Pollock bounced back to take 2-3 off his next 3 overs, finishing with figures of 2 for 17 off his 4 ;)

Heard that SDCA will host the provincial division of Melbourne CW this year. With melbourne CW going into the country, SDCA will go to warnambool for the week. I believe div 3.

Anyone know who has expressed interest in bendigo cw? I was told that Div 1 Bendigo CW will be played in Swan Hill. Which means div 2, which SDCA is now in?? Can anyone confirm?? SDCA will get to play on the best grounds available in the bendigo district...

HJ, can you give us a run down of the state of the Bendigo grounds at the minute? I dare say they would be a little bare?

Don't forget the 6/41 Travis Hede took. Whilst Im sure he'd agree the bowling at times was a wee bit indifferent, his final 4 overs were actually quite impressive to watch - three genuine nicks past 1st slip he could be a danger man on the bare tracks after Xmas.

Avenel were about 1/125 at drinks with Steve Donovan (70 odd) and Hinssy (47) going well, think they lost about 8/50. Stuie Wilkins bowled a very handy 9 over spell also.

Kilmore's run chase was ticking along ok also with Colliss and Robertson before Jed Smith (4 wkts)came on to make things interesting. Kilmore lost it's 9th wicket with 20 runs required for victory and full credit to Andrew Brennan and Jim Gallagher who got em over the line for their first win of 2006/07.

In the other game, Broadford rolled Royals for 132 (Mitch Collier 3 wkts) and after being 3/20 got the runs 4 wickets down.

Well done to Travis, good to see him snare a bag.

I think Kilmore won their first game a few weeks ago from memory too Doon, have had plenty of narrow losses this year though.

Yeah they beat Royals in the battle for the wooden spoon - my mistake

speaking of one day final, who are the teams in contention?? obviously seymour and the rook seem to be favourites!! who else tho??

Kilmore would be a good chance, they'll have Matt Robertson qualify. It's good see young 15-year-old Megan Denny keeps snaring a couple of wickets each week down there too! I've been told if she keeps improving (especially her batting) she could become quite a player.

If Kilmore has only won two games it would be no hope of qualifying. I know Seymour was a game clear before the weekend and the Swans getting beaten has probably only strengthened the Maroons' grip on a GF berth.

The Rook, we accounted for Eastern Hill on the weekend, without two opening bowlers in Irving and Dundon, A.Howard had to open the bowling for christs sake. We are hittin form at the right time of the year winning 4 of our last 5 matches i think and have been close in all the rest, with a bit of luck we mite just keep this run of good form going into the finals, and hopefully make it a successful campaign

Then the Tarrans and Sam Watts can finally come good on their annual pledge to retire!!!
